I had ZERO energy! I was following what I "thought" was a clean diet, but then eating a binge meal once a week that consisted of a bacon cheeseburger, fries, beer, and an ice cream sundae. NOT GOOD! For someone that teaches fitness and preaches eating a clean diet I was surely not following it myself, and I was feeling the effects in my lack of energy. I finally decided that I needed to make a drastic change and I did a 3-week cleanse that resulted in consuming a vegan diet. What??? I was eating vegan and feeling great, no way! The cleanse "ended" last week, but I haven't looked back. I haven't had refined sugar, bread, or animal protein in the past 4 weeks and I feel better than I have in the last 5 years! I finally feel like I've found a nutrition lifestyle that is working for me...and it helps that I've lost 16.5 inches and fit into a size 4 for the first time in my LIFE!! So, of course, I ordered the ECD Vegetarian Cookbook and I'm making recipe #3 today! I was so excited to start using it and adding the recipes into our family menu. What a GREAT book to add to my arsenal of educational tools to help me continue my health journey!! I feel like I've been empowered and there's nothing that can stop me from continuing to improve my health!

I am in fitness and although I teach classes and eat well for the most part I do get off track sometimes and loved the results I got so quickly from the first Eat Clean diet book. my only downfall is being slightly lazy when it comes to major food prep. i like recipes quick and simple to prep without using tons of utensils. I was kind of wondering if the recipes in the newer books would fit this bill for me?

I only have one brother. he is getting married in May of 2013. He is a proffesional athlete as well as his future wife and I want to able to stand up in their wedding next to them and not to ashamed that I look like a bubble newt to their fit figures....Also just the way I feel when eating clean....

One of my main motivations is to feel better and have more energy. When I stray from my eating plan I physically feel a difference. I also want to fit in my clothes that I presently own and then buy even better clothes to fit into in the future. Sometimes I look at pictures of really cute clothing that I would one day like to feel comfortable wearing.

The first big change I made was to remove the word "diet" from the conversation. Eating clean is not a diet, it is an entire lifestyle change. My husband and I have changed our eating habits together, so that really helps! We just only cook clean. Do I ever get off track? I guess occasionally, but I just find that the treats and those other foods just don't excite me anymore. If I need something that might be considered off track, I try to find a recipe for a cleaned up version. I am usually successful, or I find something even better.

I've been having a hard time staying on track in general. My motivation (or lack thereof) is when I get sooo frustrated that none of my clothes fit me properly. I have been working out with a personal trainer so my butt and legs are getting tighter (therefore, smaller) but things are still tight around my waist. That is my motivation to keep going. If I just stick to it, it's got to improve!!! I know I am part of the problem in some of the choices I make. I also put a picture of me in a bikini (looking pretty darn hot) on my fridge. I hope to look at that every time I go for an unhealthy snack. I know I have a thinner body inside me somewhere. The 20 lbs I put on over the last decade CAN come off!

I end up physically feeling bad. I look at past progress photos of myself, to remind me of where I am/was. I look at pictures of some of my favorite fitness models/competitors, like Amanda Latona, to remind me of where I want to be!

My strongest motivation is how I physically feel. An example is this: I do really well with ECD choices during the week and while at home on weekends and weeknights. When I'm at my mother's its hard since she had so much not in ECD plan in her house. Last night I ate a handful of chips - and by the time I went to bed, I felt sluggish from all the fat, salt and processed corn. UGH!

Feeling that way is the strongest reminder of why I am making good choices for myself in food and activity.

I stop my ECD year ago, after four monthes trying. Now I really regret that I did, because I never before feel myself so great like when I was on ECD. Well, I'm back now with 10 lb. more then its was year ago and big hope make myself feel and look better to my tenth aniversary(Feb.2013) . I restart week ago and lost 3 lb. and I will do more this time.

I know what kind of a slippery slope it can be, and how so much time can go by--years sometimes!--so I know it's best to stop when I realize what's happening and pick up my clean ways again. Add to that how progressively GRODY I feel the more unclean food I eat, and there's no good reason NOT to get back on track!

I have never felt better. Why would I want to go back? When I make a choice I later regret I acknowledge it and move on. It's okay to not be doing this perfectly. After years of battling my weight I'm finally seeing results and feeling so fit and healthy!

Just the fact of knowing that I want to be healthy for me and my family. Food can either be your medicine or a slow form of poison. It is inevitable to eat perfect all the time, but when you slip up you have to get up and dust yourself off and keep going for a healthy you and don't give up!
