I am totally intimidated by the thought of growing my own veggies. I do, however grow herbs in pots along with my flowers. The kids love to pick what we are going to have in our salad or chicken, or mint for our fruit or tea.

I have a garden with my Mom that is actually I my Grandpa's house. We will be planting several different kinds of tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, green beans, potatoes, spinach, swiss chard, butter lettuce, leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, carrots, onions, radishes, zucchini and beets. We usually pick something interesting out at the local greenhouse that we frequent and try our had at that as well. I am looking forward to the taste of delicious home grown vegetables again this year.

I was just talking about this with my husband today because his school (he's an AP at a high school) is having their annual greenhouse sale tomorrow. I am going to start an indoor herb garden. I can't wait to use FRESH herbs in my cooking!!

I don't have much room for a garden but I did planters last year with herbs, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers instead of flowers. I will probably do the same this year. We are still landscaping too so I am thinking of some fruit trees like crab apples and maybe a couple saskatoon or raspberry bushes.

We signed up this year for a community garden at our local Botanical Gardens. Its only a small plot but we will be planting tomatoes, carrots, peas, peppers, beets, artichokes, beans, courgettes and aubergines. In our yard at home we will plant tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, asparagus and herbs. At the community garden we have to put hours into the 'garden of eatn" which provides food for the Food Bank and we also donate 10% of our crop. We also get a great workout and fresh organic veggies (no pesticides are allowed).

I have been planning my garden for months. I live at 7200ft so have picked things that will grow here with the short growing season.

Carrots, beets, onions, lettuce, pea, pole beans, tomatoes, cabbage.

I will be doing the Square Foot gardening method. this is my very first year doing a garden so this will help make it easier.

I live in an apartment, but at least we're on the ground level, so I started a few tomato plants (Big Boy & Rutgers) from seeds and plan to put them in terracotta pots on my porch. East Coasters knows that the best tomatoes come from New Jersey, so I actually had my mom send me dirt from the Garden State! We'll see if that makes a difference! I'm also growing basil and parsley, I tried to grow chives but they all died. *cries*

Kale, heirloom beef steak tomatoes, green beans, copenhagen cabbage if I can find it (it is the best cabbage to use for making cabbage rolls), cucumbers, maybe some roma tomatoes too (great for salsa and sauce)
