I just haven't told my spouse. Since I am the main one that does the cooking and grocery shopping, I just changed how we eat. That I'm sticking to the new way of eating and I don't have to hear any negativity.. Plus he's doing it with me and he doesn't even know it. =)

I had one particular family member who was miserable to me throughout my weight loss journey and after. It hurt, desperately, for awhile. Her jealousy and viciousness ultimately ended our friendship of years. While it was sad, I learned that no one else's opinion matters. I did what I had to do to reach my goals and then maintain them. That's to be applauded, not derided. As I approach my 2 year maintenance anniversary (next month!), I recently saw her and she nastily asked if I'd gained weight. LOL! I just smiled and walked away.
My hubby, on the other hand, after watching me shrink & develop, decided he "wanted to look good enough to belong with" me, and he jumped on board and lost 50 lbs! :-)
What I did (losing weight, getting healthy & in shape), I did for me. Those in my life who matter, support that. They continue to support my lifestyle now, too.

I made them join me! It was tough at first to watch my husband slug beers and eat pizza and wings, after seeing my dramatic transformation he decided to try "clean eating" he dropped 20 pounds and is working out regularly. He still cheats more often then I do, but his attitude has changed and is more aware. My kids I have more of a say in what they eat, so they overall just eat better, but my teenage son would fight me on the issue often. He recently watched a segment on how a poor diet affects your health, and was blown away. It showed that it doesn't takes years for a fast food/poor diet to affect your health, that the affects are almost immediate. He is choosing to be more healthy and active and not fighting me so much about eating his veggies and whole grain bread!
A big thing for me is to take their favorite meals, and show them healthier ways to prepare them. I asked my son what his favorite "cheat" meal was, it was tacos, so we made them with all fresh ingredients, reduced fat cheeses, and low sodium natural taco seasoning. He was excited that he could have 3 tacos, and it was less calories, fat & sodium then one fast food taco..
Its not hard to eat and live a clean lifestyle, we just live in a society where its too easy to eat poorly. My 7 year old is on a personal mission to get people to eat better! Because "Mom, it just tastes BETTER!"

Plan ahead. Prepare my own meals.
