Grow a large variety of vegetables, green, beans, herb to eat and can for the winter. I use manure and try to use orgainic pesticide if no other alternative. I enjoy picking some fresh vegetable through the summer and fall season. It's a body & mind enjoyment.

4/8/2012 I started my first Garden, a hydroponics system. Today I have all the lettuces we can eat. Other veggies are on the way. I call it my "PUBLIX" in my back yard. I'm so excited as this complements my clean eating. /Users/SHERI/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Masters/2012/04/16/20120416-221031/101_0223.JPG

We have a small space, but do have some veggies planted. We will be planting more as the season progresses. There is nothing like a tomato from the garden.

I just joined a community garden and I am hoping to have lots of fresh fruits and veggies soon.

I have attempted to grow my own veggies, but the squirrels get them before I do. They are very cute though and watching our very small local squirrels try to drag a full size tomato up a tree backwards makes up for their thievery. I have learned they won't touch my herbs or my jalepenos, so I grow those and get the rest from my local farmers markets, a weekly veggie/fruit box from a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) project, and from the supermarket.

Yes, we have a large backyard and have placed 7 raised beds for growing veggies. Plus two additional raised beds in another section of our yard.

Here are what we grow every year -
Zucchini
Assorted other summer squash
Winter squash
Assorted tomatoes - usually 6-8 plants, varying sizes of fruit
Cucumbers - usually lemon since we love them and they are $$'s in the store
Kale
Swiss Chard
Lettuces
Herbs
Onions, garlic
Strawberries
The occasional unique veggie I see in the nursery or plant store.
Apples
Figs

I garden with my mother, who is 83 and lives next door to us. Plus I share one of the raised beds with the young girls ( 6 & 8 yrs) who live next door.
