* I buy veggies in seasona and on sale
* i scour the sales flyers for good deals on lean fish and soy products

I try to plan my menu for the week so I will be able to buy and prepare exactly what I need.

Buy seasonal produce :-) For instance, my family loves artichokes, but if they're not in season, I'm not buying them! Saves a lot of money, plus we get to try new things.

Buy things on sale and buy them in bulk so that way you have the ease of keeping your wallet fat while you lose weight. Preparing meals ahead of time is very important and when trying to eat clean and your stomach is growling at you with anger its not so easy when you have nothing in the house. Also instead of using zip lock bags that can be pricey invest in small food containers that will last a long time. Plus you can take them anywhere wih you in your cooler. They will also help you keep trim if you buy small one to fit your portion sizes.

I buy boneless, skinless chicken breasts in bulk and freeze them individually. I buy frozen berries on sale when they aren't in season. I also purchase my protein powder online - 10 lbs for about $100 which is WAY cheaper than some varieties bought in the store.

• I buy everything on sale - go through the flyers and stock up when it's inexpensive. • Plus I plan my weekly menu according to what I could get cheap that week. • Have a garden! Even if you live in an apartment you can grow veggies in planters and herbs in pots. • Eat in season. • Buy in bulk. • Make your own food instead of going to fast-food places or buying prepackaged ... saves tons of money! • Drink tap water.

I buy as much as I can in bulk: especially meats and rice. I divide meat into portions for freezing and have a weekly plan as to how I am going to use everything. I keep stock of what's in my freezer and pantry and try to use everything up, being as creative as I can with everything I have. Planning is very important!
