Hi
I did it!!! I entered the 4th annual Eat-Clean Diet Makeover Challenge.
I also entered last year and then just watched the weight add on.
I do not recognize the person I see in the mirror and I am in constant pain. I am only 34 years old and I should not feel as though I am 100. I have been working as a counsellor for the last 13 years and worked with childhood trauma, child abuse, family issues, parenting, divorce, domestic violence... which I believe, left me with no energy to care for myself and my beautiful 14 year old son.
My motivation this time around is ME!! The most important lesson i have learned in the last 5 years (time in which I gained 50 pounds) is that I need to be well before I can even begin to care for others.
I own all the Eat Clean books, I have always believed that the best way to eat is the clean way, I read them all twice or 3 times... now all I have to do is put it in action.
Thank you very much for this great opportunity!!!

I joined last years challange, and sadly I got as far as taking pictures, entering, having the mind set , but unfortunately failing. I was well on my way to healthy clean eating, and like many, I gave up. I have done some soul searching, and Have decided to make 2012 "my" year. I give to everyone, and I never give to myself. I have tons of support, and now is the time to do something that will ultimately change my life...forever. I will be joining again and I will look forward to journey ahead. This is a gift to me!

Yes I am on the road to joining the 4th Annual Eat-Clean Diet Makeover Challenge. Pictures are taken, magazine bought (can't put it down either) and now it's a matter of getting everything posted. My motivation is all about "me" now.

Just over five years ago I was diagnosed with a rare form of Melanoma Cancer, after a number of surgeries and treatments the latter of which left me battling the aftermath of extra weight. Then just when I had the weight and training under control and thought things were going great, I had a motorcycle accident and couldn't do anything for nearly five month, well you can imagine the weight just sneaks on. I'm now mended, starting with a new trainer and seeing this challenge just gave me that much more encouragement to get out there and just "GO for IT". It's also wonderful as my training partners follow the Eat-Clean plan as well so with their support I'll reach my goal.

With the motivation from my beautiful daughter, a true fit and nutrional icon, she introduced me to some of your eat Clean Recipes for several months ago. I never really stuck with the Clean Eating on a daily basis, BUT I am now I will be turning 57 in two weeks and would like to be as fit as I was at 50 at 117 pounds. I now weight 154 YIKES!!!! With the motivation from her and this web I KNOW I CAN DO IT!

YES!! I was going to do it last year but just kept putting it off. This year my whole family has decided to change our eating habits for the better. I realize that if mostly falls on my shoulders because I'm the one in our household that does all the grocery shopping. I'm so ready to make a change to get healthy and have more energy. Most importantly I want to be a positive role model for my two young daughters. Lets Rock n' Roll Baby!!

For me, this is not just about the contest (because it would be SO AWESOME to win!), but it's for an eat-clean lifestyle for 2012 and beyond. I need to take charge of my health instead of letting sugar pollute my body and well-being.

I am moving onto the next phase of a permanent lifestyle change. I started a weightloss program in March of 2011 and as of Dec 2011 I had lost 75 pounds and a total of 39 inches. I exceeded my personal weightloss goal by 13 pounds and I feel so much better about myself but most importantly: where I want to be!!
My motivation for the makeover challenge is: I DONT want to gain back any weight and need to incorporate healthy eating and exercise, not only for my own benefit but for the rest of my family. I've come a long way but I know I have more ahead of me to make this a LIFESTYLE SUCCESS!!

Just entered!

I lost my fitness mojo about ten years ago and have mentally beaten myself up ever since. Not to mention all the excess junk in my trunk I've picked up and hull around. Now my knees hurt, feet hurt, back hurts and I feel like tired all the time. I’m tired of feeling tired and I want to be proud of myself again. It’s time to pull up my proverbial “big girl pants” and get back to Clean Eating and taking care of my body.

Cheers and good-luck to all who have entered!

Yes!!!! I almost entered at the beginning of 2011 and didn't due to being in physical therapy and dealing with depression. Now I'm done with PT and healing emotionally and it is time to focus on my health! I have about 100 lb that I need to lose! The pictures were hard to see, but I am glad I have them to look back to when I get this weight off of me! This is so important for me not only to look good and feel good; but I am a health professional in my community and I want to inspire my clients! Moreover, my hubby and I also want to start a family within the next year or two so losing weight is a must before we start trying! I officially entered yesterday and I am ready to go! Remember our bodies are temples and we should treat them as such, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! :)

I am absolutely entering the 4th Annual ECD Makeover Challenge! My motivation is to finally take the time to reflect on the outside how good I feel on the inside. As it has been said - life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans. I have been telling myself for years that I am going to make taking care of myself for my family, my health and happiness a priority, and yet as the years go by I find myself no further ahead and feeling even more defeated and frustrated. I have finally had enough - enough of not allowing others to take pictures of me because I cannot stand to look at the reflection of who I have become, enough of the comments of how I would be such a beautiful woman if I just lost some weight, enough of just not feeling "good enough". I know that I am a beautiful, strong, confident and capable woman on the inside, and I cannot think of a better gift to give myself than a "new and improved" beautiful body on the outside to match!

Yes! I entered the challenge last night! I am so excited about this contest. My plan for the New Year is to get back to clean eating so I can be healthier, happier and finally meet my weight loss goal. I had two beautiful baby girls within 14 months. After giving birth for the second time I weighed 220 pounds. It was then that I made a commitment to get health again. I set a goal to lose 100 pounds. I joined a gym and started eating clean. After 2 years of hard work I lost 96 pounds. I was so excited and happy with my results that I decided to ease up on my meal plan and cheat a little. That was a terrible idea because I now weigh 150 pounds. I can't believe I let that happen. I know eating clean and working out hard works wonders. So as of January 1, 2012 I am recommitting to eating clean and exercising so I can finally reach the milestone of 100 pounds lost. And more importantly so I can look and feel great in my own skin and in a bikini! I will look to the pages of Clean Eating Magazine an Oxygen Magazine for advice and motivation. Winning this contest would be an amazing accomplishment and the best birthday present ever! (My b-day is September 10). I look forward to this competition and hope to be Oxygen Model shape by August!

I have officially entered the 4th annual ECD Makeover Challenge. I am excited and nervous. I have lost over 100lbs (2005-2008) by running and using weight watchers online. I was hit by a car while riding my bike home from work in 2009. The injury to my right leg kept me from being as active as I would have liked, but I have been getting back into athletics. Being depressed about not being able to run, play hockey, ride my bike kept the weight on by my emotional eating. I gained back 35 of those 107lbs. I am tired of always being tired. I am done with being addicted to sugar. I just want to feel good again. And I would love to get my muscle tone back!

YES, I will enter (again after technical difficulty) the @4th ECD Makeover Challenge today with great enthusiasm!! I am mentally and whole-heartedly ready to take care of my body with the respect it deserves. Coming across ECD was like a breath of fresh air! I've been trying to regain my health and fitness since going through breast cancer in 2008. I kept my calories low and started running. I lost 75 lbs after chemo and became Skinny Fat! In 2011, I started training for a 1/2 marathon, but was so fatigued and flabby. I could not figure out the proper nutrition. Now I've gained back 35 lbs and stuck in the sugar addiction. ECD is going to add years to my life and give my body the nutrition it needs to fight off disease. I'm so excited for this journey and wish everyone motivation and success in 2012!!

Yes! I am so excited to enter and think this is just the kick in the bootie that I need to get goin! I have a past history of being very athletic and a dancer! I have always struggled with my self-image after years of competing in Hollywood as a dancer where I wasn't overweight but was told at auditions that I needed to lose about 10 pounds. This resulted in always thinking I was fat. It is sad to look back on all the pictures of when I was vital, trim, and healthy and didn't think I was. Stress and poor habits have caught up with me! I am now ready, willing, able, and committed to a complete return to total health and vitality! Looking forward to doing it with the eatclean community!

Yes! I am going to enter the contest next week when I return home from holiday vacation. I have been working very hard over the past 6 months at shedding a few pounds and sculpting muscle - but the one thing I really struggle with is healthy eating. I don't enjoy many foods, and as a result, my diet suffers. This isn't a New Year's resolution - this is me taking the last step to transform my healthy lifestyle.

Yes I did enter the challenge today. My motivation for entering is a lot of things. I use to be athletic but have left bad eating creep up on me. I have many goals for 2012 but my biggest goal is to find myself again and to beat the depression from the stress. I also want to finally complete my first half marathon and etc. I would love to lose weight but instead of setting that type of goal I would like to go down in dress size. I entered this challenge in 2010 for the 3rd annual but never got to finish because of the events that kept occuring in 2011 but this is the year for change for me. I hope everyone the best that they are able to find the path to healthy eating and living but also happiness.

Yes, I will! My motivation is that I was a former athlete who fell off the healthy bandwagon. After having two children and with a busy work schedule, I have put me at the bottom of my priority list, and the result is a tired, unhealthy and unhappy me. Well no more! I am participating in this challenge and plan to start running regularly again. I used to be a long distance runner, and normally weighed 115 pounds. I currently weigh about 157 pounds and I am only 5'1". My goal for 2012 is to change my lifestyle, eat clean, get my half-marathon times under 1 hour 45 minutes, and be a positive example of a healthy living to not only everyone around me, but especially for my children! Good luck everyone!!

Yes I plan to join! I HATE having my picture taken, but I've been overweight since I was 14 with a short period of an unhealthy, eating disorder type thin in my 20's. I'm 36 and I'm tired of being fat and unhealthy. I'm going to Australia for my 37th birthday and I want to look and be strong, healthy and trim. I want to comfortably hang out on the beach with surfers while wearing a bikini and feel and look healthy and gorgeous in it.
As of today I am no longer on a diet. I'm following my "live it". I'm changing my perspective. It's no longer that 'I can't eat that' it's that I've chosen not to. Thanks Tosca for bringing this lifestyle to us.
I'm in it for life!!!

Yes! I plan to join. It has been a rough year for me. I have spent my entire life yo-yo dieting I have lost and gained the same 15 pounds a thousand time. I will be 50 this year. I'm not looking back, I have worked hard going back to school and entered nursing school. This semester I did not pass, but have been given a second chance and will redo this semester. Working and going to nursing school has been a challenge with my eating and workout programs. My 14 year marriage almost crashed and burned by the end of this year. Only positive forward motion. I have been given two second chances, I have no intention of wasting the opportunties I have been granted. It's time for changing bad habits with realistic goals.

YES! I am mostly a vegetarian. I only eat meat when I'm in the mood which is almost never. I do however cook meat meals for my husband and when they look and smell good I do have a bite or two. I want to cook healthier for hubby too because I cook us separate meals daily and that is getting old. I know the recipes on here will healthy (for me) and meaty (for him). Does anyone know if you can save the recipes?

I'm tired. I'm tired of dieting, tired of being embarrassed by how I look, tired of never having any energy to do anything, tired of having a victim mentality, tired of being tired. I want being proactive as a way of life for me. I want physical health, vitality, and energy to be a integral part of who I am. I am hoping that this program will prove to be my map that leads me out of the dark and into the light.

I'm in. With my 50th birthday looming in early 2011 year, I got in great shape in 2010 following the CED principals and spending 6 days a week in the gym. I felt fantastic! 2011 brought a lot of personal challenges that I allowed to pull (and keep me) off the CED and exercise wagon. it's amazing how fast your physical and emotional self changes when you go from making diet and exercise a priority to doing nothing at all. Jan 1, 2012 is the perfect time to recommit myself TO myself. I started off w/a bowl of steel cut oats w/ground fax seeds and walnuts this AM. I'm on my way....

Yes Yes Yes I am!! I am especially excited to have discovered this challenge on the first day of my new committment...( I made a decision a few weeks ago that I had finally had enough and that on the stroke of midnight on NYE I was going to completely commit to getting myself back to healthy living through Clean Eating and exercise and to do so faithfully for every day of 2012). I have the Clean Eating books and received the Clean Eating magazine for the past couple of years but I admit I only followed it half-heartedly.

With stress and pre-menopause(I'm 46), my weight has crept back up to 145 lbs and I have never felt worse both emotionally & physically. I KNOW that by getting back to a faithful Clean Eating diet and taking my running to a new level that I will definitely take back my life!

My biggest motivation is my 9yr old son ...instilling in him the proper eating/health habits to enable him to have a leg up on a healthy lifestyle...but I'm also motivated by wanting to be healthy in my 'older' years.
Happy New Year everyone!!

New Year, New Start! Going to take this one day at a time. I'm always a clean eater, until night time. Then the munchies take over. The next morning, I beat myself up, and the cycle starts again.

Gotta learn better eating habits, for my health. Maybe instead of looking at this as a diet, it's about fueling my body to make it work at it's peak!

I need to be accountable. Good luck everyone!

I just entered the contest today, so now to figure out this website and how to use it. I am 5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh 208.4 lbs. My motivation to lose my unwanted pounds are to be healthier, feel sexy for my husband, to tuck a shirt into a pair of jeans adorned with a pretty belt, and to decrease chances of disease that are caused by obesity. Good luck to everyone, I look forward to sharing this makeover adventure.

Yes I'm uploading all of my info tomorrow morning. I am extrememly new to eating clean a friend I met about a month or two ago was talking about some fitness lady named Tosca...I had never heard of her. She was telling me all about eating clean and that she had a book for me to read (Recharged) anyways I'm determined to finish it tonight since tomorrow I'm going to start this challenge. I'm a yo-yo, best description I have, !'m either completely devoted to my diet and exercise routine and then something happens that completely throws me off and everything goes out the window! I'm finally done with these fab diets and infommercials selling me on the latest equipment or pill. I'm ready to make a lifestyle change. Since I got married 6 years ago my weight has fluctuated I'm at a wobbly 154-158 pounds and extremely unhappy. I hate looking at myself in the mirror it makes me want to cry at this point because I seriously see a blob. Well at 22 I'm done telling myself that this summer I won't be ashamed to put on a bathing suit. I'm ready to make a lifestyle change because I don't ever want to be in this position again. I've got the tools I need now so it's up to me to apply them! Here we go 2012!!!!

But I ended up getting a subscription on my iPad...very cool actually and I love it...I also got the Clean Eating magazine! So I had to take the magazine picture with the iPad...I hope that is okay??? I'm very excited for this challenge. The challenge is over just before I turn 40 in September...and my goal is Fit by Forty! So this is it!

Yes, I will be entering the 4th Annual Eat Clean Diet Makeover Challenge. My motivation is improving my life as whole. I will be implementing the Eat Clean diet in order to improve my health. Since I am currently 240 lbs, and 5'3'' , I am overweight and unhealthy. I would like to have a baby after my weight loss and lifestyle change. The Eat Clean Diet will help me make the necessary changes now, and motivate me through and after pregnancy to Eat Clean.

Yes! I am ready to get healthy! I used to play a lot of sports and be active but I let my career take over my life. I am making me a priority this year so I can get back out there and live life again and be able to do all those things that I can't do now because I am physically out of shape! I also look forward to the mental uplift as well. My husband will be leaving on his 2nd deployment to Afghanistan and I am preparing myself mentally to be able to handle his deployment and taking the time to really focus on me and my health. I would like to lose 75lbs to start with and see where it goes from there. I am looking forward to connecting with this community for support and wish everyone the best of luck this year!!!

Yes! I am ready to take this plunge! My motivation is about timing. I have, like several others on this post, had some personal struggles over the past few years: car accident that took my father's life and left Mom in nursing care, divorce and change of my career, loss of friends and a general overhaul of friendships and lifestyle change. That's been 5 yrs now. My doctor said the weight gain was from cortisol and my Naturopath agreed. I have uneven globby fat in different spots on my body. I am 5'9" and weigh 160lbs, but do not evaluate myself by weight. I evaluate myself by size and health. My waist is 36in and my hips a 43in, between a size 10 and 12. I do not compare myself to anyone else but only to what I would like to achieve. In my distant past, I was a size 8 Fit Model in the fashion industry (that's the body they fit clothing on before it goes to manufacturing). I want my size 8, somewhat balanced body back!! Being a Life Coach to many people whose life goals I help achieve, I want to also be an example of practicing the discipline I work with my clients on! My health is pretty good but I would like to run up a flight of stairs and not be heavingly out of breath! To be an example for my friends, clients and family will be my biggest motivation (ok, wearing a bikini at age 44 would be nice too!)

Yes! I think it's a great idea to help people stay on track and stay motivated.

I've been hovering around the 150s for a year now - and at 5'2" - I'd love to hover around 120-130. I know it's not about the number on the scale - but I think that by eating clean and exercising (and keeping it fun!) that it would be a matter of time before some weight came off.

I'm very excited - and started the day I entered. A week in - I feel a difference - especially with getting back to the gym.

I am very excited about entering the 4th annual makeover challenge!
I was training for a Tri-athalon 11/2 years ago. Unfortunately personal life happened and I gave up. I had my weight down to 130lb @ 5 ft 4 in from 160lb.I was working out faithfully everyday. And eating clean. I am stuck at 158lb and I am so excited to do this challenge. I will get back to my desired 130lb through this challenge. I have began running on my new treadmill and will next incorporate weight training. I am a Mother of 2 and a Grandmother of 5 boys and another little one on the way. I want to be an inspiration to them so throughout their life excercising and eating clean will hopefully have an impact on them.

Good luck to everyone!! now let the CHALLENGE begin!!!!!!

YES!!! I am incredibly excited about this upcoming challenge!!! My hubby and I have already made the choice to Eat Clean and exercise.... This is just pure motivation to keep me going! I am overwhelmed with excitement right now after browsing the website and looking through the success stories!! I have gained about 80 pounds since getting married 8 years ago and I don't even recognize myself anymore. I'm determined to wear shorts and a swimsuit this summer without worrying who sees me. I'm determined to get my clear, healthy skin back. I'm determined to be a healthy example for my children. I don't want my children eating fast food or drinking sodas. Why is it okay for me to? Not anymore!!!!

Yes! Thank God!

I can hardly wait and I believe that this will truly be the time that I change my lifestyle. I just lost my Mom in November and she lived a wonderful life with no regrets for 96 terrific years. She was a great inspiration to me and lived a healthy life.

I am at an unhealthy weight and need to make the changed for myself and my 3 wonderful children who are now young adults and I want to enjoy the next 30 years at least with them.

I have emptied my cupboards and completed 1/2 of my shopping list to begin the life change on Jan. 2, 2012. I know it will be a hard won success, but success none the less!!!

Count me in, FINALLY!!!! I always seem to run across these contests a month before they end. The timing is perfect for me to recreate myself.

After surgical menopause, I am at my highest weight, ever. When I am at my lowest (or highest as the case may be), it sparks something inside me. I look at it as a challenge to prove to myself that I have what it takes to hit the proverbial "homerun".

I have just started a spiritual journey, and the ECD will fit in with it perfectly. It's time for me to feel great, exude energy, and be a role model to all the women (and men) my age (44). We are meant to THRIVE in life, not just survive.

Who's coming with me?!?!?!?!?!

That's it … no more junk food. No more processed anything. Only whole foods that nature intended us to eat. I'm not doing it for the weight loss although that would certainly be a nice benefit; I'm doing it because I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. I'm ready to make some big changes in my overall wellness and have those changes become a regular part of my life so I can feel better and look my best. I want the wellness "WOW" factor. I'm ready!

Count me in for the 4th Annual Eat-Clean Makeover Challenge! I am fairly new to the concept of clean eating, but it makes very good sense. I can see from Tosca and the many other successes that this way of life really works!

Our family has suffered some terrible tragedies over the past couple of years. Those stresses coupled with baby weight that was never lost...and the weight just silently crept on. I seriously did not recognize myself in a recent photo.

The motivation? To live my life abundantly, not as a quiet bystander, but as an active, purposeful participant! I just turned 49 recently. I have so much that I want to do and be and accomplish! A secondary factor would be the positive example and effect this would have on my two daughters, both of which have a passion for ballet.

My only question: where do I sign up? I am in...body, mind, and heart! Happy New Year everyone!

I have a secret of wanting to participate in a fitness competition, although right now I am nowhere near close to being a participant. I must admit when I saw "Do you have a lot of weight to lose but can't seem to find the motivation? Look no further? The 4th Annual Eat-Clean Diet Makeover Challenge starts January 1, 2012." I got excited and thought this is what I need!! I need to be serious and finally do this. I have said for a long time this is what I want but never followed completely through with it. As a mother of 5 children, I have always put myself last. However, the more I think about doing something for me ..that will benefit me...makes me want it even more. I take care of everyone else around me and I need to finally apply that same dedication in doing something for me.

I'm turning 39 on December 31st and realize this will be the last year of my 30s, which has been a pretty rough decade for me. I need to make this year my year. My year to get ready in the best possible way to welcome the next decade of my life. I look forward to my 40s as a chance to be the best I can be, to become someone full of health, vibrant, and strong mentally, physically and emotionally . Tosca is an inspiration to me because she was about my age when she decided to take control of her life and her health and look how awesome she is now! It gives me a sense of hope that this is doable, that it's possible.

I just got married in September. Our first Christmas together was spent with me in the hospital. I've had headaches for well over a month, my hospital stay uncovered (aside from dehydration which got me there), I had very low potassium and tachycardia. I am 40lbs. overweight and I am VERY tired of constantly feeling sluggish, irritable, horribly poor digestive "issues", etc. I am beyond ready to get my life in order from the inside out. I will for sure be entering the 4th annual ECD! I am preparing to join the Air Force Reserves, and before I can join, I have some weight to lose, as well as physical activity to work on. Clean Eating will not only be a staple in my eating routine, but a life time that will change. I am tired of being tired, and I hate the way I look in clothes, I refuse to buy new clothes when I have a TON of smaller ones in my closet. Why waste money on LARGER clothes, when I can INVEST money in healthier foods to better help my health for a life time!

I sure will enter the Challenge. I will rise up and conquer it :)
My family moved to Georgia from Canada, and when we visited here the first time , we took a day trip to the beach. I swore to my husband, that I would wear a bikini at that beach!! I do make it to the gym quite often, but I definitely need to change my eating habits to see the results that I want to see.

Another huge motivation is for the positive health benefits that you see when Eat Clean. 2011 has been a rough year for me. My father passed away in early March from a sudden heart attack. Two weeks later, my aunt did as well. Than, my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer (she has had radiation and it is now in remission) My family history has had a lot of heart disease/cancer/diabetes/high blood pressure. I will NOT let any of these health problems get me. I'm going to live my life clean and healthy.

I'm looking forward to seeing my body transform and my health and energy abound.

Yes, I plan to enter the challenge! Nutrition is an important part of my life but I never had the energy I wanted. Two yrs. ago I made changes to my diet and practiced more of a vegetarian way of eating. I still ate meat a few times a week and eggs but eliminated dairy due to digestion issues. With the changes in my diet I felt great, lots of energy, experienced my first winter ever not feeling down and trained for a 1/2 marathon successfully. A year ago my family and I went through some major changes due to a family members health. It has all turned out good and my family is closer than ever! During this time my health took a turn and not a good one. My adrenals took a hit - I started consuming more caffeine, I wasn't eating well, my sleep pattern was a mess, suffered injuries related to running and this past summer and fall had some infections - which is not normal for me. So, to make a long story short I enter this challenge not to loose weight but to regain my health, get back on track and live my life to it's fullest potential!

Yes I will be entering this year. The last month has gotten me off track. Started with a cold, followed by being tired and now the holidays. I so wanted not to fall in the old cliche of starting on January 1st as do most people but I guess that is where I will be.

After the weekend, with family gone and my life back to the normal norm, I will be embarking on my journey, hopefully for the last time. I would love to be in the 150's at the end.

I have the desire but I must maintain the determination to do it.

Yes! I will participate in the challenge. My motivation is my husband's incredible progress and the fear that he will reach my current weight very soon if I don't get it together.

I am ready to kick these extra 30lb to the curb in 2012. I am 5ft 6in tall and today I weighed 199lb. I'd like to weigh about 165-170lb by next summer if not sooner.

All year, I've been doing my very best to eat clean. I have two of Tosca's ECD books and I print recipes from Clean Eating magazine too. As far as exercise, I've completed 2 rounds of P90X with my husband. He's lost over 40lb and I've only lost about 15lb but I have developed some muscle in my arms, upper back and legs. This new year, I just want to be done with it!

My plan is to tighten up the clean eating, continue to prepare my meals and snacks ahead of time, continue to find clean family friendly meal ideas and recommit to my workouts 6 days a week.

Finally, I pledge to participate more on this website in an effort to find more support and motivation to reach my fitness and health goals.

I believe that this year I will. Although I have been into sports and fitness my entire life, food has always had control over me instead of vice versa. Having found the ECD and joined an online group of amazing women, I have discovered how much better I look and feel when eating clean. However, I'm not quite there. My bad habits still creep back in and I have been inconsistent. I end up allowing emotions or other external factors take over and fail to put my health and well being first. I want to be an amazing role model for family and friends and am determined that my forties are to be the best ever! This is my year to live a life that I am proud to share. Oh, yes! I am entering the 4th Annual Eat-Clean Diet Makeover! I have been waiting for this for several months now! I have been an ECD/ KT member for quite some time now, and I feel that I finally not only have clean eating down to a science, but I also learned alot about my eating disorder in 2011. I can proudly say that I no longer eat to stuff feelings, I no longer eat for emotional reasons, and I no longer have anxiety attacks or major depression. I have not had my binge-trigger food (vanilla white-frosted cake donuts with the pretty pastel sprinkles on the top) in almost a year, nor have I suffered a binge-eating attack in almost a year. I accomplished that through lot's of hard work through Overeaters Anonymous, and Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet! For me, the two must go hand-in-hand! I have learned so much in 2011, that I am ready to take 2012 to a whole new level for my self, my health, my body, and my life. Look out, fellow KT'ers! Here comes the Kaptain! =)

Yes!
My motivation is to finally gain control of my unhealthy eating habits. I started the Eat Clean lifestyle 4 years ago. I was able to loose 70 pounds. I kept the weight off but I find I am not consistent enough in eating clean. I still have 30-40 pounds to my goal weight and this competition is what I need to finally reach my goal. Eating clean is 80% and I need to commit to see the final results. I know if I want to get rid of that cellulite on the back side I need to eat clean close to 100% of the time. Yes I am in.

I sure will partiipate! I have done the Eating Clean program before, but allowed myself to lapse for many reasons, none good. Motivation? To be, feel, look, and live more healthfully. I am an aunt to several, and as an elementary school librarian, a role model to 500+ current and thousands of former students. Plus - tasty food that I can ensure I am not allergic to - so, heck yeah!

I have been working out all my life. For the most part, I eat very clean and that has been my way of life. For 5 years I taught a mind/body fitness program called NIA. Exercising about 20 hours per week, my weight held at 148 lb. I kept thinking I would like to get it down to 135 lb, but I never dipped below 145. When I started working full-time in an office, my weight ballooned up to 162 and has held there for the last 6 years; all the exercise and clean eating I practice has slowed the weight gain to a mere 6 lbs this season….one more wrong bite and I will hit 170lb!
Here is the problem as I see it. The old adage applies: 20% of the work gets you 80% of the gain – and that is where I am 80% successful at achieving a good exercise and diet program. Even though my WHR puts me in the high risk zone, I use no meds, I feel basically OK, I wear a size 10-12. I should just accept the inevitable process of aging…right? WRONG! I don’t accept it! As a dancer and yogini all my life, I want my aging dancer’s body!
What I do accept is that I need to do better than 20% of the work! I need to get a little more committed and conscientious to start seeing results. I need to “grow a backbone, where my wishbone lives!” to quote from Eat, Pray, Love. Strength, commitment patience and consciousness are my mantra this coming year.

In May I tore my ACL and underwent a surgery in Oct. still healing, but lost all muscles, lost motivation and stopped focusing on eating clean. I feel lethargic and gained 10 lbs!! While losing muscles! Need the challenge to get back on track.

Honestly, nothing has been more difficult to overcome in my life than losing weight - not serious injury, not the end of my marriage....

I feel I am finally ready to begin this journey - I am finally in a good place emotionally (never was before, that was why I couldn't succeed). Forgiveness is powerful: I have accepted that the past is the past and it does not define who I am today. I make choices every day - and I am now choosing to be fit, healthy and strong. Life is a precious gift, and I will no longer take it for granted or waste time sabotaging and punishing myself emotionally and physically with food. I have made peace.

I am accountable to myself, and to a good friend who has committed to her own Clean Eating lifestyle. It has made all the difference to me, to have someone to share the journey with.

Best of luck to all! Happy, healthy New Year!

Over the past year I have lost 20 lbs by exercising and just eating more healthy in general, and now I am ready to take things to the next level. One of the Eat Clean cookbooks was under the Christmas tree this year, along with a new weight bench and I am very lucky to have my family's support as I strive to achieve a healthier me before my 50th birthday (still 1 1/2 years away). Asthma has always interfered with exercise and over the past year I have worked hard to not let this be my excuse and roadblock to a fitter, more healthy me. Bring on 2012 - I'm ready for you and the Eat-Clean Challenge!!

I started doing triathlons last year. I ended with a half ironman and loved it. I am setting my sights on the Lake Placid Ironman 2013. I carry around an extra 25 lbs of fat which I know slows me down and beats up my joints. I want to look and feel like a triathlete. Even though I can get through the races, I want to be faster. I can't accept this extra weight slowing me down anymore.

Yes I am!!!!! In the past I have put myself last and over the last year, I have decided to make changes that benefit ME so that my whole family will benefit. I am not overweight at all and actually have no weight to lose but I am out of shape and my eating habits have suffered along with my physical appearance. I want to look HOT at my now 42 years of age! I'm ready now!

I am joining the Eat-Clean-Challenge to take a step to be on a path of a healthier life style. I have 4 children and I am aware I am a role model for them in every choice I make, including food choices. I hope that by changing my diet will encourage them to make healthy choices as well. On a personal view I feel pretty good about the way I look untill I see myself in photos. I want to have my outer appearance match my inner feelings about myself. Looking forward to the bennefits of clean eating from more energy to clear skin as well as a trim and healthy body!

I'm an joining the challenge because I am tired of gaining and losing the same weight over and over. I have always struggled with my weight and food has always beaten me. For the first time in my life I want to beat it and never look back. I've done every crash diet out there, I've had trainers but i don't think I ever truly wanted to lose the weight or else I would have. Now Im sick and tired of being sick and tired and am ready to find the real me hiding deep inside all this.

The birth of my son almost two years ago, along with a few years of stressful job "rearrangements" (I teach at a high school and have taught in three different areas in 3 years) have led to a life of stress and unhealthy habits. Just three years ago, I was a healthy 30-something who was involved in competitive rowing and was focused on a healthy lifestyle. That seems to have changed and I've lost my focus on me and have become someone that I'm not too happy with.

I'm joining the challenge to regain a sense of me. I was to refocus my energy on good ways to deal with my stress and the basics, such as clean eating and exercise, is a perfect place to start. I'm afraid of who I may become if I don't start doing something now, and this is the motivation I need. I was to be the fun-loving mom and person that I used to be and put this cranky, flabby, unhappy person behind me.

I will be entering the 4th annual eat-clean diet makeover challenge. I have been making changes to my diet over the past year and this upcoming year I'll be changing my family's diet. My husband is a Type 2 diabetic with over 100 extra pounds on him. It's time for him to feel better and to take less medicines. We need to enjoy our time together and not be in the constant state of when will he flare up again.

I'm doing it for the challenge, the support and the focus. Already down a few lbs but thats really not my goal. I was freaked out this year when my relatively young Mom said, "It hurts to get out of bed." I have 4 kids and I when I am my moms age I dont want them worrying about me, I dont want anything to hurt when I get out of bed or go up the stairs, NOR do I want to have to carry a medical bag full of 'scripts as I watched my grandparents do. This is the year to keep making good choices for the only body I have been given, that needs to last me the rest of my time on earth.

I blew out my back last year while training for a Tri ( that was not what did it, but it sure did sideline me)
Though I avoided surgery with Pilates and TRX training... they gave me medication for some of the pain... ( I also have Sarcoidosis Stage 2, so I am always in pain) The medication, as the doctor tells me now, changes the way your body processes food. I now have gained 40lbs from being a super Athlete and I am disturbed... Wont look in mirrors, hate every step I take, and wake with a cloud over my head everyday!!
The saddest part, I even am a Nutrition Coach, and a Personal Trainer. So not only has this sidelined my training, it has hurt my business.
So, here I stand starting from the beginning...

Yes! I am entering and I'm excited! I've already lost 43lbs and have 50-60 more to go. I'm at the point in my journey where it's getting harder to stay focused. I need this challenge. My motivation is to not just be alive..but to LIVE.
