I hear "oh, you're still on that no-sugar thing?" I laugh and say "yes, if I eat sugar now it makes me ill." If someone insists I have a bite of something that isn't clean, I just tell them I'm full and appreciate their offer. I don't go into much detail with the general public; my friends and family totally understand and support me (for the most part). There are a few occasions when I go to someone's house and they "forgot" that I don't eat sugar and white flour...though I sometimes think that if I was deathly allergic to it they would remember! I guess it's because it's something I'm doing by choice and not because I had a bonafide allergy or reaction in the past. Little do they know!

I tell people that it is a life style change and that we aren't doing it for a diet, it's for health. My husband is a diabetic and I was tired of looking at labels. It's so much easier cooking wholesome food and knowing that there aren't items that can hurt his health.
The kids on the other hand are having a hard time with the concept that I am not buying junk food. But I have already noticed that my skin, hair and over all appereance has been better since clean eating.

Like others below, I tell them that it is not a diet it is a life style that has changed my life and I have the results to prove it. I use the formula 80% nutrition + 10% fitness + 10% genetics = A BEAUTIFUL HEALTHY BODY! I lost majority of my weight while focusing strictly on what I was putting into my body when my foot was broken and I couldn't exercise. The only person in my life that I am trying to convince of this is my boyfriend who will sit down and eat a huge heavy meal then not eat for a day because he is punishing himself. I get so mad at him. Luckily I am the one that cooks so I have control over what he puts in his body sometimes! Anyone who questions me does it out of curiosity of the changes I have made. Because of this change in my life I have inspired a couple others do follow the same path that I have!

I tell them it's not a diet it's a lifestyle. My choice gives me energy and smaller jeans...down from an 18 to a 4...WOOOHOOOO....I get comments like..."you lost so much weight you must not eat"..WRONG I eat all the time it's what I choose to eat and when I choose to eat it...every 2 1/2 to 3 hours...their jaw drops and say well I am living proof it works. That usually shuts them up!

I look at them as they sit on their couch eating nachos and drinking soda pop and ask them what they are doing to improve their health. Or, I look at the other person who is popping chemical laden diet pills and eating ricecakes and ask them how their program is working. It's hard to question someone who eats whole fruits, veggies, grains and drinks plenty of water!

I tell them that it isn't a diet; it's a lifestyle. I tell them that eating clean makes me feel healthy and energetic. I tell them it's not about counting calories, it's about choosing what's best for my body. And I tell them that I've never before eaten such a vast variety of foods and I've never made a recipe from any of the Eat-Clean cookbooks or from Clean Eating magazine that hasn't been absolutely delicious. And then I invite them for dinner!

I tell them to enjoy their slow death while I enjoy shopping for smaller jeans.

Don't knock it until you try it! The improvement in how I feel everyday, above and beyond the weight loss, is well worth the effort!
