Well I have to admit it's tough. This morning when I went to the gym at 5:30 a.m. it was minus 23 celsius with the wind chill and it was tough to leave my warm bed. I think it would be easier if I had a car starter. I just pack everything the night before and take my son's advice. He says 'don't think about it, don't argue with yourself, just get up and do it as though there is no other option." It's not even winter yet, but I've decided that if it's too cold to leave the house so early, I will still get up and work out with a dvd or something.

I live in Texas so there are not a whole lot of days that it's too cold or yuck to go to the gym, but on the few days that it gets that way I work out at home. I have several workout dvd's including p90x that I can pop in the dvd player and have a great workout.

My fellow 5:30 a.m. gym rats will be contacting me if I miss my morning work-out with them. It's all about the people at the gym and how great I'll feel when it's done. My social AND physical needs are both met by 6:30 a.m. in the morning. What a great feeling!

If it's really freezing and/or gross outside, I take advantage of my TV and work out with the channel, FitTV! They have great aerobic and strength training programs that I can do right from my living room...I usually do several so that I know my workout is at least 60 minutes. Great alternative to freezing my tushy off (although that might not be a bad thing to freeze off!).
