Every-one at work always waits to see what I'm going to pull out of my bag next. My bag and I are the running joke but I don't care. The key is preparation. Without it you will fail. It takes time but if it's important to you you'll take the time to do it.

My question for you is, is it really bad to have something in the morning before going to bed after a night shift. I usually have to get my daughter off to school and will have some cereal or something at around 7:30 before going to bed at 9:00.

I also do not work shifts but I used to and I think this even applies to when you go to bed really late.

What I do is a simple stick to the rule-of-thumb - I eat every 3 hours, my little clean meals right out of the cooler and it is the only thing you really have to think of.

Prepare the cooler, have all the required meals stashed in there, and just live your life whether it is shift work or late-night shifts or even going out clubbing with friends. After 3 hours, walk to car, nibble on clean meal, jump back into the action.

I don't work shifts now but I did work till 3am for a number of years. I managed by making sure I always ate Clean food, and during my shift I'd keep fruit, nuts, yogurt and other easy Clean foods on hand. I never really had a chance to have "meals" but Clean snacks to nibble on whenever I got the opportunity.
