I always tell myself that I can do anything for five more minutes! I also visualize myself looking my best and think about how great I'm going to feel when I actually do finish this tough workout. It gives me a sense of accomplishment to get through it and makes me feel like I really can achieve anything I set my mind to.

I visualize my goals, what this workout is working on to get me closer to those nice shoulders, higher tighter tush, shapely legs, etc. Then I just do a gut check and ask myself if I have what it takes to get what I want. If I want it, I gotta work for it, because no one can give it to me! Crank up the music and get the party started.

Focus, focus, focus! When I feel I don't have the strength to go on I find a spot on the wall/floor/equipment where ever and FOCUS! Then I give myself lots of self motivational talk. I also like to remind myself how crappy I will feel later if I quit.

I just ask myself, "Do you want to waste this time?". It's hard enough to get to the gym and I am here, so why not make it count.

It happened last night. I was exhausted, and compeltely unmotivated. But I went to the gym anyway, and once I'd gotten my first mile of cardio completed, I was full of energy and desire to work hard. I just kept thinking of what a faster 5k I'll be able do when I am lighter and stronger. : )

I think from the end. You know that feeling when you have accomplished something that you dreaded doing....how good you feel when it's over? I get my mindset on that feeling....of how I will feel at the end. When I am finished I have instant gratification!

When I am struggling to get through a workout (or a hard day with food even) I think about how I felt when I hit rock bottom and decided to fix me. I focus on the reflection I want to see verses the one I do see in the mirror. I listen to the clink of the charms on my necklace which holds special significance to my journey and I think about the words engraved on the disks.
"Sparks...............the moments that define us" I remember that pushing through this is another testament to defining my inner strength and I find the spark to push onward.

this just happened to me yesterday. i had made it up in my mind to do a sculpting workout during my boys naptime but when naptime came, i was pooped! i thought seriously about just skipping it and taking a nap too. but then, i popped the dvd in, as to tell myself "well its playing now i you have to" and then for better or for worse i got an 8.4oz can of sugar free red bull and a 16oz glass of water. i sat for a minute, drinking them both and looking at an oxygen magazine. BOOM instant motivation! i felt the caffeine kick in about halfway through, the dvd is 40 min and then i even jogged 1.5mi after to get some fat burning in! it was great!!

I just tell myself you can do it and focus. It may be hard but it's well worth it in the end!!!
