Local fruit/veggie stands are fantastic, sometimes better bargains than buying bulk in the big warehouse stores - plus I only get what'll be consumed b4 spoiling. Our local farmer's market also provides food/supplies to local restaurants in bulk @ great prices. Periodically, I'll go w my family/bf to our local farmer's market, buy fresh goods in bulk, then we divvy the massive amount amongst ourselves. I also tailor meals throughout the week referencing the specials in the weekly circular from our local grocers.

Fresh veggies and fruits at the farmer's market is a no brainer!! I for one buy a lot of canned tuna/chicken/salmon. They are really cheap and easy for lunch. That way I can utilize my leftovers for another nights dinner as opposed to lunch. I do take leftovers to lunch on occasion, but if money is tight the more I can stretch my dinner choices the better. Beans are also a cheap and versatile purchase!!
