I take a multi vitamin everyday just to round everything out, but I get almost all of what I need from clean foods. I figure if I miss a little bit from foods, the multi will take care of that. I have experimented with a lot of different things in the past, but I too find that clean foods works the best and most consistently!

I have in the past but have not found them to help as much as when I just eat properly. Besides everyone seems to have a different answer when I ask for guidance in choicing what to take.

Nope! Not a one! I used to take a ton of them, popping pills all day long, got up to 45 pills per day (and I'm a gagger!). Then I started paying closer attention to what I'm already getting in my food, and guess what! Everything I need is in my food! Can't beat that! I'd rather eat than pop pills! :-)

Now, that said, occasionally, I take dandelion root to help expel excess water weight, but that's rare (like once or twice a year).

Am new to Eating Clean, (1 week) and so far, no supplements; only a mulit-vitamin. Need to add in Calcium I suspect. Have joint issues, so perhaps also need to add in Glucosamine. I love Clean food, and suspect I'm getting what I need (except, perhaps, enough calcium) from the foods I eat. Advice is appreciated though.

I take a multi vitamin and antioxidant combo along with bioflavanoids, chelated minerals, calcium, fish oil w/ Vit D and a joint formula that contains glucosamine, turmeric, manganese, silicon and vitamin c, all from Usana Health sciences because they are top rated by an independent Canadian company and the first multi that I have ever truly felt a difference from.

I take them because as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer I need all the energy I can muster and I don't like using stimulants (other than my single morning cup of joe!). I also like to protect my lean mass, fight free radicals, protect my bones and joints and promote my general health and well-being.

I sometimes take probiotics and 5-htp as well, to promote digestive health and enhance mood. I believe the 5-htp helps with energy sometimes as well, those days when I am really just feeling run down but I have to keep going. I have noticed though since taking the Usana essentials that I don't need to take the 5-htp, which is wonderful!

The supplements that I choose to take is to hopefully keep me healthy, maintain lean muscle mass and to keep my body fat percentage a reasonable range. ( lean, that is! ) :))

They include:-
-Vitamin C
-Vitamin E
-A multi-vitamin
-Cranberry Extract
-Probiotics
-Glucosamine
-Fish Oils
-Conjugated Linoleic Acid
-Branched Chain Amino Acids
-Both Whey and Casein Protein Powders

Oh and also GNC Pro Performance's Thermo Burst for that extra energy to work a little harder during training!! :))

I take supplements for many reasons. Here is a list of the current supplements I take:
Multivitamin (liquid)
Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc
Alpha Lipoic Acid
Glutamine
Glucosamine with MSM
Vitamin C
Fish Oil

Then I put flaxseed and wheat germ in my oatmeal every morning and a fat burning right before my am cardio workout on an empty stomach.

I'm a little extreme, but they are all beneficial to reach my goals.
