My first step was admitting I had an addiction to sugar--most importantly chocolate but anyting sweet is my drug. I realized this once I started eating clean and the kids brought home their Halloween booty. I didn't touch one single piece because I knew it'd be all over with! I can't stop once I start. That was H-A-R-D.
My goal is to reduce my body fat percentage and gain a lean physicque. I'd like to set a goal of doing a fitness show in the spring but I wanted to give the Eat Clean principles a try first. I've already seen improvements after two weeks so I'm going to be on this forum alot for support. I'm not sure I can do this. At age 43, five kids later and a year after a hysterectomy, I may have nature against me :( At any rate, here I am, weight training, doing HIIT cardio and eating clean thanks to Tosca's inspiration. Wish I knew she was in Dallas today, I would have made the hour drive in the rain to meet her because she's brought me back to life :)

Intervals are amazing! I will push myself as hard as I possibly can every 90 seconds for 20 minutes and get a VERY intense workout.
Also, working two large muscle groups at once saves time and pumps the sweat. Ex; plie squat with bicep curl, hold a squat with dumbell rows or tripod with tricp kickback.
power shower, hair in pony tail!

- Doing HIIT, you get a great sweat on for only doing 20 minutes at work.
- Changing at work, skip the changeroom
- Split the workout up, do cardio in the morning and weights in the evening
- Plan out what your going to do before getting to the gym

Go harder not longer. I increase the intensity, reduce the rest time and can cut my gym time almost in half, and still get a kick-butt workout.

My husband and I are slowly building a gym in our basement. We don't live close to town and if it's going to be a lifestyle then we have to make it work at home. I get up before work and workout at 5:15 AM. I do push / pull type movements and to a series of three exercises 2 -3 times through. This way I don't have to rest in between and can get right through the workout in around 45 min. Then jump in the shower and have an hour commute to work where I eat my breakfast (my husband drives, we carpool into town). My workout is done for the day and I don't spend my work day convincing myself I don't have to work out when I get home. It works out great!

I plan to be there during times when not busy with early day or after work crowd. I also take my filled out training notebook, I-pod, water bottle and get right to it. I also work on having the "me time" mind set so I don't cheat myself with too much socializing.
