Had a great week at work, for a change, now on to a three day weekend, bought my Feb issue of Clean Eating.. made the Thai Chili which our eldest dtr had recommended, so delish, and yes its a do-over.. enough for tomorrow the hubbys dinner and mine too.. then sunday i will make Double Duty Ginger chicken.. I have made this a few times as it is like the C.E. cookbook says Quick and Easy.. mmm my kind of dinners.. Then one of us will make a fancy dinner for Valentines Day from one of the books or magazines.. going to stay home and save some money.. My biggest thing is portion control and how to not eat too much.. I am doing OK with the whole packing of the lunch bag thing, its the dinner meal portion.. I need to cut down a bit I think.. AND I have to get back out walking.. with our awful roads and weather so far this winter, haven't been to far with the doggie but shall get going on that.. I find if I go right after work then its done for the day and it helps me unwind if its been one of those days.. Good luck to all.. Sue

This week, I found it challenging to keep myself in a positive frame of mind at work. I was letting little things annoy me and I felt frustrated with my colleagues. Last night's workout at the gym reminded me that when I'm feeling antsy or overly negative,a good sweat session relaxes and recharges me! Yay for endorphins!

My fribromyalgia has been making it hard to exercise, but I am still trying. I won't give up.

My biggest challenge this week was deciding to make this change and start eating the way I know I should. I read the book over the summer and was just overwhelmed with an infant and wanted those brownies. Yep - knew what my response to the book should be and willfully ignored it. Sounds like a disobedient child doesn't it? Well, finally I am fed up! 37 years old, 5 foot 4 inches and 168 pounds. Not a good thing. On top of which, I LOVE sugar. I eat two desserts a day, Every. single. day! No more! My biggest challenge was to get started and today I have. I even uploaded photos (not pretty!) for the 3rd annual ECD makeover challenge.

my hardest challenges have been all the junk food while living at my parents. But ive been detouring around the treats OR measuring out small amounts and incorporating them into my clean eating plan. I feel im doing well, cant wait for my new house, 1 WEEK!

My challenge on Thursday was not eating everything in sight. I have been doing great for the last 3 months and Thursday, out of nowhere, I was starving and I had eaten right all day. I think it was boredom and I prayed I wasn't going to fall back into my old ways. Well, unfortunately, I gave it and saw no way to fight it, but today I was totally back on track and feeling great!!

My challenge this week was extra work commitments which meant I couldn't teach my usual 2 back to back classes Monday night. I missed 90 minutes of exercise on a night which usually sets my frame of mind for the rest of the week. I got around it by changing into my workout gear as my husband drove us home from work, then did a 30 minute high intensity interval workout of my eliptical machine & multi-joint/compound moves, before heading back to the work event we had. Normally if I miss workouts my clean eating falls away, but I have made so many strength gains since clean eating began Jan 1st, that I stuck to it this week with impressive tenacity. Next week is busy too, but I will be able to workout Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, so I won't feel quite so concerned about "going backwards" from lack of workouts.

2 big challenges for me.

first was getting out of the bed to go running in the morning. i've learned that if i don't do it in the morning, i talk my self out of doing it in the afternoon. no good, because i've got a half marathon in three weeks! i'm going to set out my clothes and go to bed a little earlier next week to get me on the road.

second was making cookies for my boyfriend. i had two, and felt like i threw everything away. i'm getting up and moving on! i know from experience that if i live in guilt/regret and don't forgive myself, i won't make any kind of progress!

My yoga practice on Thursday was a little off. I was tired from staying up late Wednesday night to watch the UNC Dook game which turned out to be a disappointment. So I told myself to just go in there and restore and renew and when the class would go right, I would go left. I didn't hit my arm balances in side crow and I fell asleep in Savasana. But I just made myself breathe deeply, telling myself to just renew and tomorrow would be a different practice, that I was doing awesome just by showing up to my mat.

Mine has been fitting my workouts into my work schedule and my workout partners schedule. Next week is looking just the same. UGH!

Believe it or not, my biggest challenge this week was not food related. I think I did okay with that this week... My biggest challenge was actually a series of horrible workout sessions. I go every other day and the last three times I just felt "off". I even had a gentleman that I see there often come up to me and ask me if everything was okay. The other two workouts I completed, but yesterday I just wound up leaving before I got done. I am not sure how I am "dealing" with it, but I think I will probably go back to the gym this afternoon (even though I am not due back in there tomorrow) and do a light session and plow back in full force tomorrow morning... I will just put it behind me and hope for a better day tomorrow. I know a lot of it is just being tired this week, not feeling up to par (although I am not sick or anything, just feeling a bit mentally drained by life). I will just keep telling myself this is only temporary and will pass!
