I've always heard that workout partners are a great way to train, to stay motivated and accountable. However, for me the best workout partner I could have is me, myself, and I. If i rely on anyone but me to get me to the gym, to push me, or to be accountable to...I'm giving myself an out..."well my partner didn't show up today so its her fault I didn't get there either" I cant do thosm. At the end of the day, its just me i have to blame OR congratulate for what I did today. Its not a bad thing to have a friend or mentor to help u...but you can really only rely on YOU when it comes to making real and lasting changes

I don't have a workout partner but when I show up at the small community gym they notice if I have not been around and support me in getting back on the right path.

My workout partner is my bff and former trainer. We're both really competitive, and there's no pooping out allowed, lol! Apart from healthy competition, just knowing you're not alone, someone is waiting for you, depending on you... that will get you out the door and to the gym :-)

I don't have a lot of friends because I moved around a lot. So, I got brave and I searched for a fitness group on meetup.com. There, I met a workout buddy and we signed up for a water aerobics class last semester and were accountable to each other to show up. This semester we are continuing our journey with swimming for nonswimmers. It's great to have someone to be accountable to!

My partner is my sister who lives in a different state. We do it by phone and make a plan each week. Then will call each other after the workout to be accountable. We both work out from our homes.

My workout partner, Jennifer and I keep tabs on each others workouts and eating at least 3 times per week by phone. Unfortunately we only get to actually workout together a couple times per month, but we are very supportive with each other and hold each other accountable. We do events together like 5K's, triathlons and adventures races to keep motivated.

We know how great we'll feel after the workout and how much more we can get out of our day. We stay motivated by the feeling of reward and the feeling of awesomeness you get from working out!
