1 planned cheat day (really just a cheat meal) a week. It has to be planned though, not a "mistake." Why? When I'm trying to lose it always gets me through a plateau. The 2nd reason is that it helps me during the times I want to be naughty. I use it as a reward. If I stick to my plan at all other times then I can have the cheat meal, if not, no cheat meal for me. It works wonders on Fri and Sat nights when I want to dive into the chocolate!

I do not believe in Cheat Days. I feel a meal plan should be one that you can follow every day without feeling deprived. Eating several small clean meals a day and the wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables really makes it unneccessary to have a cheat day. I will have a "treat" every once in awhile like a glass of wine for a special occasion or a square of dark chocolate - but it is not a whole day kind of thing.

Neither, However.. I do have clean desserts from time to time (always something I've prepared from one of Tosca's recipes). I really don't consider it cheating though and I make sure to have the appropriate portion.

i don't really classify it as a cheat meal per say but Friday is my relaxed supper/evening so i will often make a desert for that evening from the EC cook book or magazine. About once a month or so i may try a whole meal such as ordering pizza... did that once... wasn't good choice for my body so haven't done that again... i'll make my own.

When I was on my weight loss journey, I definitely had cheat days and they were scheduled. It helped me stay on track if I knew I could have what I "wanted" at a specific time. As I've moved into maintenance phase (been here over a year and a half) I don't schedule treats any more, I simply enjoy one or two a week and live my healthy life. :-) The things I consider treats or cheats are totally different now, though... instead of french fries I crave sweet potato fries; instead of a greasy cheeseburger, I crave a bison steak; instead of milk chocolate, it's my own dark chocolate made with cocoa powder and coconut oil. My taste buds have evolved along with the rest of me :-)

I allow myself one straight gin martini each on Friday and/or Saturday night. I find I'm less likely to order multiple drinks because a straight gin martini is for sipping and takes the duration of the meal to finish; plus there are very few calories in a straight gin martini so although I cheat, it's not as bad as having sugary alcoholic drinks, which I hate anyway. Ultimately, it's nice to relax with a nice drink and healthy meal with my husband on weekend nights after a week of diligent clean eating and lots of exercise and work...I notice that on Mondays I'm right back on track and feel good having a little treat...

I do have a cheat meal usually it is either Friday or Saturday night, and a cheat snack on Saturday night while watching movies with my hubby. I like looking forward to having some of my favorite things. I don't feel deprived, and I don't wreck my diet!

No cheating! If I get started with unhealthy, but delicious foods - it's bad news. Best to just stick with eating clean all the time. And I feel better for it!
