Feels like my whole world has been charging toward and narrowing onto August! August 27th is my first Figure Competition! Long way from the overweight and unhappy woman I was in January 2007! Wooohooo!!! Eating clean changed more than my body... it changed my LIFE!

I'm going to spend the month ENTIRELY junk-free. This will be the very first time I've done it, and it will be a HUGE challenge for me (my junk "food" issues are pretty deep-rooted). It's the last major hurdle I need to overcome, and it's a biggie, but it's SO worth it!

My goal for this month is to cut back on sugar (refined sugar entirely and "clean" sweeteners in moderation). I have quite a sweet tooth!

I am turning 40 years young this fall. My goal is to become the "Best Me" that I can. I am going to loose the excess weight that I am carring around with me and become a better role model for my family. To achieve my goal I have started to eat clean. My daughter and I will start karate lessons when school gets underway.

I am a teacher and every year the beginning of school is a very stressful time for me. In the past I have turned to food, specifically junk food to cope with the stress. Last year I gained about 10 pounds during that time. I determined then to be more conscious this year about coping with the stress another way. So, my great acheivment for August will be getting back to work and eating for ultimate nutrition, not using junk food to cope with stress. It will be easier to handle the stress if I am eating clean and working out each day.
