Consistency. I do amazingly for a week or so and then life throws a speed bump in my way. I've done better at not letting those bumps derail me entirely, you know the oh I've already had one so I might as well eat the whole bag mentality. I try to keep the perspective that food is the fuel that allows my body to do all I ask of it and it helps.

I find the planning and also portion sizes to be the hardest for me. I am sure that with time and practice it will become second nature and it will be a way of life.

The planning of meals. I find that it is so easy to fall into the fast food trap when you are rushed for time. I have been trying very hard to eat clean for the past 2 weeks and it does get easier when you plan ahead.

Definately eliminating the sugar. I love sweets. I did make some clean chocolate cupcakes this weekend, though, and they were delicious!! Now i need to learn to only eat one!

oh,the sugar element.
The only time I need my sugar is in my morning cup of coffee.Okay, okay my 2 cups of coffee in the morning.
I'm not one to have coffee without something sweet in it.I've tried a couple of artificial sweetners and they make it taste awful.
And i'm not sure i'm ready to give up my coffee yet.Still debating it.

I just started to learn to eat clean.. I must say the hardest part is just like everyone has mentioned..portions, figuring out what to cook for my family.. and the sugar (especially chocolate) cravings. Good to know I'm not alone..

Figuring out the portions has been an issue for me as well as combining the different food groups to make sure I am eating a healthy balanced diet....so I guess this falls under planning.

I really find it difficult eating around other people. Before, when I was heavier, I was always self-conscious about what I ate because I felt like people are judging me. Now, it seems, since I've lost weight, there are no holds barred on commmenting on what I eat. "Oh, is that on your diet? I gonna tell Tosca!" if I decide to have an off plan meal. When I'm strictly on-plan, "Are you anorexic? One bite won't kill you. You don't ever have any fun anymore." I really just prefer to eat with my immediate family because of it. I'm not going to change my lifestyle to make others happy, but I'd rather limit the opportunities to listen to them comment about it.

I still am trying to figure out just the right portion sizes for my needs. I also don't know how many starchy carbs and/or dairy (if any) I should eat to get leaner!

Weekends can be a challenge for me as well, when I'm with friends and family and they just don't understand why I don't care to eat what they do or I have "eat again!" ... "you just ate a couple hours ago!" haha :)

Keeping sugar out of my daily lifestyle. I'm on week three of the eat clean diet and my oatmeal, coffee, and smoothies still taste a little bland. I know there are other sweetening options but some are pricey. I'm sure that my taste buds will get used to it. :)

Eating out with friends and family can be challenging as they think you are being over the top when you special order your food all the time. I am a very social person that likes to be around a lot of people which usually involves food and drink so it is challenging to always eat clean when clean options are not available at parties, events etc. When I am training for a competition it is even harder as my food options become very limited so oftentimes I bypass the social parties in order to avoid temptation. On the flip side, I feel healthy, have an abundance of energy and am in the best shape I have ever been in at the ripe age of 45!!! I have been told I am an inspiration to those that admire my dedication and discipline.

At first the organization of the meals was very challenging but once I was able to get a routine in place it is actually really easy. Eating our can be a challenge but there are always menu items that can be manipulated to be as clean as possible.

The hardest part about the lifestyle is all the compliments you get. Really, it's too much sometimes! (LOL)
