It depends on the type of vacation. If I'm away for only one or two weeks then I take a break from my intense weight training. We will enjoy the outdoors with lots of walking and maybe some jogging if the knees allow. On a cruise I stay fit and continue my weight training, cardio and follow my 80/20 rule of eating clean for 80% of the time but indulge in some kind of "treat" 20% of the time. On a recent 40 day cruise I was determined not to return home "twice the person I was" as some people had suggested. I followed an exercise plan for the 40 days using the gym on board, the running track and found it very easy to make healthy eating choices from the wonderful food selection. Everything in moderation, including the wine! It's possible. I feel great!

I try to stay out of the gym rooms on a vacation and take advantage of the natural world instead - running on the sand or water sports But the best is if they offer yoga or pilates on the beach first thing in the morning. I love that!

Not meaning to exercise, but usually do because of all the walking we end up doing. Especially if we visit Theme Parks. This year though I am going to "Mean too" because I am enjoying the energy I am have from Clean-Eating.

hell yes! I love to run in different towns and cities. It's a great way to find out where things are. And I love trying out different fitness centers too. I'm on vacation now in NC!

I do...I make sure I get in a walk/jog in the morning before we start the rest of our day. I try to do some strength but hard without weights.

I don't "formally" exercise, but most of our vacation activities are in some form of exercise. Such as hiking, walking, swimming, etc.

Absolutely. Luckily my hubby is nutty about this too, so it helps!

That is an interesting question. Answer is NO I work out hard all year and my week off is really a week off. My husband who doesn't get to work out as much at home goes wild on vacation. EATS clean and works out everyday. We manage to have a great time together.

My goal is to train hard for 6-8 weeks... then take 5-7 days off.. I would plan a vacation during that time, while still eating clean. If that's not possible, I will do pilates and running on vacation just to maintain a healthy mind set. I average 6 days a week of intense workouts... so a little break is not a bad thing... although running in a new outdoor environment is always refreshing =)

We do get a lot of natural exercise by walking through amusement parks, playing in the waterparks/pools, camping and biking. I have to admit, the idea of going to a gym during vacation is foreign to me...but I'm just starting out so maybe that will change. One of my goals is to run a half marathon. I'm going to plan a vacation around my first race!

Yes and no. Our vacations are more active nowadays (when we can take a break), and occasionally, I'll hit the gym where we're at, but for the most part, we enjoy the added activity of wherever we're at and enjoy our time away.
