Because of the job I have, I get home between 7:15 and 7:30 at night. My daughter (a senior in HS this year - yikes!!!) helps me prepare dinner and that is our time to catch up and talk. She is as excited as I am about our new lifestyle and eating clean so she is anxious to learn with me and work with me. Thanks for bringing us closer!

I gave my kids the Eat Clean Diet book for kids, then went away for the weekend without them. I told them they had to choose something they wanted to cook and have it ready for the family when I got back from my trip. Of course they chose the popsicles!

My boyfriend is picky and inexperienced in the kitchen. His meals generally consist of spaghetti, burritos, etc. My clean chili has caught his eye and to encourage him to cook it, I have to talk him up a bit and assure him that I will be there if he has any questions. I have to let him know that the ingredients list is a little overwhelming, but it's relatively simple and much healthier and tastier than his regular meals. So, boost their confidence if they are inexperienced and uncomfortable.

I let my little girls help me with the shopping, they get to kick, count and bag the veggies and fruits, so they feel involved in the shopping process. At dinner they help me too, they get to help me mix, stir and add ingredients
Meal time at my house is a family affair and lots of fun and a little messy sometimes.

When my kids were younger, I used to make a meal and add a "secret" ingredient. It could be a spice, an oil, a veggie - and they had to try it and see if they could figure out what I added. It could be cinnamon, basil, zucchini, cocoa. The winner got a quarter. It was great to see them try new things and then start really tasting flavors and knowing where they came from. They got pretty good at it. Now they are teenagers and food experts, but no longer happy with just a quarter reward!

My fiance, who LOVES to eat my cooking, but never really got the hang of cooking it for herself. I have her pick out 2 recipes a week that she wants and thinks she can cook herself. Then have at it! USually I still end up cooking it but she helps with the menu planning haha

Getting the family involved in preparing the food, get each one to pick what to eat that night, to be taste testers. I have also given them 2 days each to prepare their own meals and go grocery shopping, that was alot of fun, and yes everyone had to eat what they prepared. Last but not least is to help clean up the kitchen!!!
