Have an accountability and/or workout partner!! Nothing motivates me to workout more than knowing someone is expecting me to show up. As far as peeling myself from a comfy couch on a relaxing Sunday to cook and make my meals for the next few days, I visualize how much more smoothly and effectively my week goes when I have pre-made go-to EC meals in the fridge. It's so much more relaxing and well worth the effort.

My family is learning that the days I DONT workout I am a grump! Ha so, now whenever I try to make excuses not to go, My boyfriend will tell me to "just go, it will make you feel better". 99% of the time he is right! Also, the days I workout I tend to make healthier food choices too, which in turn helps my energy levels as well!!

Ooops! I meant to say I used the excuse of being tired and bored! See...I have so much energy that my fingers are typing faster than my brain can keep up!

I used the excuse of not being tired and bored for many years and all it got me was size 16 clothes and depression. Now when I am tired and bored, I lace up my sneakers and work out! I always have tons of energy after a good sweat and laugh at how easy it would have been to lay around and not do anything and still feel miserable! Someone was on to something when they came up with the slogan "Just Do It"!

Skip the motivation. Just do what needs to be done. Motivation is like a butterfly, it'll flit in and out of your life... don't waste time waiting around for it. Enjoy it when it's visiting, but the rest of the time, go about your business. Yes, it's hard to get up and get going when you don't want to, but if you want to reach goal (or maintain it, MORE, then you'll get up and go. :-) My husband says, Drive is Self-Imposed Motivation... I love that!! Don't wait on motivation, use your Drive! :-) You CAN get past the blahs. You CAN triumph!

I really like to read different fitness mags like Oxygen - I dig out old ones and I find some kind of motivation to get those sneakers on!

I love reading inspirational stories of others who battle with the same health and diet issues as me...I especially love reading my "Chicken Soup for the Runner's Soul"...It really gets me pumped up for a good run =)

I remind myself that the only way I will reach my goal is to get out there and put forth the effort! Being tied down by the unmotivated monster is what made me pack on the weight years ago!

I put the lease on my dog and go out for a walk or run.
