First off, I think the best way to keep your kids healthy and active is by leading by example, which I do! I eat clean and exercise regularly. We never talk about weight as a reason for it, but for health, strength, and energy. I feed her foods that are packed full of nutrients, protein, and fibre and give her a glass of water to drink before he has any juice. I teach her that she makes the choice what she puts in her body (cuz sometimes at her dads or relatives, the menu isnt as nutritious), and I hope that she makes healthy ones, with the occasional treat. When she does eat junk, I ask her how her body feels, so she can recognize the difference. We dont have cable, so I only allow the tv to be on on Fridays for our mom/daughter movie night. Otherwise, we spend our time playing games, doing crafts, going swimming, for walks, to the park etc. I give her lots of verbal recognition when she eats her healthy foods and is active. I also try to encourage her to get a good sleep (which is the biggest struggle of it all)!
