Sunday, I took a 12 hour vacation after several straight days of working, and did nothing productive with no guilt. I didn't answer my phone, I didn't e-mail, and I didn't cook (I love to cook, but my husband is also a great cook). I called him on the way home from my last show on Sunday (I'm a pro-musician on weekends) and asked him to take care of everything. Which he did.

Today!....Every day that I make time for myself to go to the gym and exercise and work my body hard. That....to me.... is the best way that I can care for myself....and I love it. I have a hard time going a day without it.

Last weekend I bought myself two new pair of jeans, three blouses, new shoes and a new purse. I completed a half marathon last Oct and a half in March 2010. Last week I signed up for my first whole marathon. I am fighting with my thyroid being underactive yet I still managed to run 3.5 miles after work yesterday. It isn't about the time it takes to complete the distance, its all about completing the distance. I love my new life!

This afternoon actually! The laundry is piling up and I have to dig out and wash my summer clothes before our trip to Florida in a couple weeks but it is 24 degrees and sunny today. I ignored the pile of laundry, put on my shoes and my ipod and took my dog for a run. I missed yesterday's dog run so it felt even better today.

Well, that moment will come today at about 4:30pm, after work. I will be going to take 20 minutes out of my schedule to relax in a tanning session. Other than that, I bought myself the Montel Williams Healthmaster about two weeks ago, to make refreshing smoothies and healthy soups. I am loving it!

I got my nails manicured and my eyebrows waxed and I took a 4-day vacation in Florida with 2 great friends a few weeks ago! It was GREAT! I didn't worry about studying for the CPA, dieting, or anything stressful for 4 whole days. I came back refreshed.

Last night after the gym, I took a really long shower and then sat in the steam room with conditioner in my hair for 15 mins. My hair always turns out super soft afterwards and I love it!

First...I am not very girly..at all, so this was rough for me. I went to a salon. Not a huge day or anything a new haircut and my oscar the grouch eyebrows waxed. But I felt so pretty I took some home beauty tips from a friend, and while my son was napping made an oatmeal/oliveoil/brown sugar scrub, and a citrus face mask...now I am all soft and smooth..feelin real girly!

I decided to use my yearly work bonus to hire a personal trainer rather than something for the house. Six sessions in and I love it and already notice a difference.

I'm subscribing to Oxygen for extra motivation. (I've been a Clean Eating subscriber for at least a year now and I love it! I'm a recipe addict! There is just something therapeutic about them!)

This morning.... I went to the gym with my fiance at 5:30am, and also met a girlfriend there. After cardio, shoulders and bicpes, I came home made a smoothie with flax and whey and feel fantatic! No better way to start a work day! : )

Considering I have not careed for myself properly in so long, I am not sure I remember how. I will say that I am trying to care about myself again. Its just a little bit of a struggle for me.

I just booked a massage for this Saturday morning!! I have only ever had a massage once in my life years ago. My benefits at work cover me 80% so I figured why not take advantage and do something good for me, my mind, my spirit and my soul. Very much looking forward to it. :)
