For many people, cardio is the least favorite part of their workouts. What cardio exercises do you do, and how do you keep it fun?

I have just started working out for the first time really in my life and I am 33 years old!! What took me so long? I feel better than ever and can finally see results due to EATING CLEAN and mixing up cardio-elliptical, recumbent bike, and treadmill-at least 4x a week. I am sooooo very thankful for being introduced to clean eating. WOW! Totally changed my life!

Ropes! Rope Undulation exercises and Tracy Anderson - Beginner Dance Cardio work for me. My ropes give me a wonderful all over and cardio workout too.

I like to use Turbo Fire by Charlene Johnson. The exercise is high impact and the music is very fast tempo.

I find changing up my cardio really helps. I run two days a week, do 1 cardio class a week then put in 1 to 2 eliptical work outs in. Having a great play list helps and keeps me motivated.

The hard part is always starting out but after the first 10 minutes I begin hitting my stride. And of course the great feeling after your done is always worth it!

I'm not at the stage of loving cardio, or working out for that matter, quite yet. I have been there before and am working at getting there. It is so motiviational to see the posts and know that there are people out there that love cardio and are so passionate about it! Thank you to everyone that has shared their posts!

To keep me going right now, I keep things moving quick and switch between cardio machines to make the time go by fast. I have a treadmill, stationary bike and elliptical in my basement so I do a minimum of 10 minutes on each machine! I also use mantras while I am working out, my two favorite and most motivational are:

1. "I can do anything for 10 minutes (60 secs, etc)!"
2. "I am strong, fit and healthy!"

Happy workouts to all!

OMG!! Cardio is my favorite part of working out. I love getting on my super sized Eliptical Trainer and going to town. Somedays are better than others. I am up to 50 minutes now (again) and I'm not going to stop. I just put my Ipod on and go.

On an Eliptical you can go forward, backward, squat down a bit for some extra leg work , and do your ARMS too. It's totally the best for me..

I also have bad knees and NEVER have a problem on the Eliptical Trainer.

Huggs and Best of LUCK to all....

Being shy and anxious around people I always avoided taking classes such as RPM, even though I really wanted to try them out. Last November an instructor invited me to her Cycling class and I enjoyed it so much that decided to try RPM to see the difference. I love both classes, but I'm choosy about the instructors...I want them to push me and I want to feel the class is hard and like I need to work more in order to keep up. The classes I take to do this for me and they have helped greatly in making sure I get cardio in at least 3 times a week.

I would suggest to try a class and push yourself. If you don't find it challenging try a different instructor or a different class. Also incorporate some running. I've started running on the treadmill and have improved a great deal. I'm no where near where I want to be but I know I'll get there, just have to keep doing it and not stop. I've noticed it I stop, when I get back into its even harder the before.

I'm addicted to running. My large dog shares the feeling! I compete against myself by tracking my times, and by setting new goals. My current challenge is to make it up a certain, very steep, hill. When I'm totally unmotivated, a new outfit helps.

mostly it is jogging, it is just so convenient and i can do it any time. i always take the tunes along and often change up the route so i don't get bored. i live across the highway from the beach so most often i go in that direction and have a few zen moments there. i did try some Zumba and though it was fun it was too loud for me... i guess i'm more of a solitary person. I too prefer the cardio to weights, well actually haven't tested that theroy yet... next week!

Least Favorite, Cardio? No way, I don't believe it. I live for the cardio and have a much harder time getting the weights in.

To make it easier and fun I do it on a regular basis! Nothing is worse than starting from scratch after taking a prolonged period off (which could be as little as 2 weeks). Conditioning builds on itself and so the more you do, the easier it will be for you.

To get started it always helps too have a GREAT MUSIC playlist. Whatever makes you the happiest and if that's something with a good beat the you can go to, even better. Distract yourself with the music. Remember that after 20 minutes endorphines kick in that make you so happy you'll never want to stop.

Lastly, check out your environment. If you're in the damp, dusty and dark basement you're not going to want to get there and you'll have little to look at. If you can be outside, do it. I had 2 fantastic fall foliage runs this week.

(If you must be inside and you can go to a gym or the YMCA there's lot of people to watch and to be inspired by!)
