I now stick to the Outside Round of the grocery store - produce-meat-dairy, while avoiding aisles that are full of processed and Un-Clean foods.

I go to the store more often sometimes three or four times a week. Having fresh produce is important and I hate wasting food. I will miss my garden now that winter is approaching.

I don't eat meat so going to store with 5 items on my list makes it faster & more economical

I spend most of my time in the fresh produce area. I always take a list of the things I need to try new clean recipes. After my leisurely stroll through that section, I hit the butcher block and pick lean cuts of meat and plenty of fish. Lastly, I whizz through the aisles spending as little time as possible being tempted by the processed garbage that was once a major part of my diet.

I am so happy to finally be "eating clean"!! I bought the books over a year ago. I wasn't ready then. I have been going to the gym and have had a personal trainer for over a year as well. But because I was eating loads of sugar and 'bad' carbs, I wasn't losing any weight. In fact , I was gaining.
I got weighed about 5 weeks ago at the gym, and 'hit bottom'. I was really upset about what I weighed. I had to do something ! So, three weeks ago on Tuesday, I began to "eat clean".
What a difference ! I only shop in the fresh produce and meat sections now for the most part. I am eating NO processed foods, no sugar, and have stopped eating baked goods (bread, cookies, cakes, muffins, etc.) I have also stopped eating pasta.
What a difference! For two and a half years I was going to see my GP with all kinds of complaints ...mostly about being tired. She ran every test you could think of.....but didn't ask me what I was eating. Now that I am eating clean trips to the grocery store are becoming less stressful. And I HAVE LOST ALMOST 17 lbs. IN THREE WEEKS ! I have energy to burn and I am no longer tired.

My trips to the store are so much easier! I plan my meals for the week and create a shopping list based on what I need. I've also taken to trying new vegetables, fruit & grains that I probably wouldn't have considered before...who would have thought that I would LOVE Kale & Collard Greens? There are still some challenges, as my fiance isn't totally on board (I'm working on him!) but overall, I feel much better about our purchases. I love that I have even MORE of an excuse to cook & bake (which I love to do), using all the healthy food we buy.

My fridge is full of vegetables (nice colours!) Our household is on the Eat Clean mantra and we've noticed a significant difference in our energy. Emotionally, we are very vibrant because we feel more energetic. My grocery list is easy. Vegetables, fruit and beans and grains and lean meats. Love it and I feel like I'm cheating because the food is so delicious.

..now I just gotta work on my exercise regimen.

Onto the next step!

Its much faster, I pretty much run. I have my list, I get whats on the list and I no longer linger in the candy isle 'just looking', which we all know used to lead to buying. I go every Sunday afternoon. This also means I generally know what the cost will be each week to, since I basically get the same stuff. We have ended up saving money.

I still have to purchase some of my families favorites that are not clean so my cart can look sort of contradictory for the most part. I'm hoping to win them over eventually.
