  • How are you keeping a clean lifestyle this weekend?

I LOVE success! Not just my own. I am so encouraged and inspired by all of you on here. It is Saturday.  A lot of people have taken a mental break from eating clean and exercise. Please tell me how you didn't. How are you living healthy today?

  • Clean Eating Kid Victory

Just a quick post but I had to share this little victory.  Anyone who has picky eaters in their home will definitely relate, I think. My 5 year old, who is at that stage where she refuses to try new things on a regular basis on principle because it "looks yucky," just turned down delivery pizza because it "she only likes the kind that she and mommy make at home."  She's talking about my cleaned up version of pizza, which I make for my kids about once a week using whole wheat falal bread, strained tomato sauce (just tomatoes, garlic and a pinch of sea salt), low fat mozzarella and turkey, chicken, or whatever we have in the fridge.  I definitely gave a little fist pump when I heard her say it. Score one for clean eating ;)

  • Protein powder?

  • It gets tuff

My husband and I are having trouble eating the six meals a day.  We get so busy remodeling the kitchen and doing the upgrades on the whole yard that we forget to eat or we eat wehn we feel the first hunger pains.  I fix a good size breakfast, if I do eggs, it is two whole and 2 egg beaters or 3 egg whites, whatevers on hand at the time.  If its cream of wheat, its the whole wheat type with fruit.  Anything I make I add flax and chia seeds to and that seems to hold us until it's time for lunch.  What ever I fix for lunch holds us til dinner and so on.  Does anybody have any suggestions?  We are fixing to go see the grandkids this month and I told him I would pack us a clean cooler to travel with. :)

  • NEDA

Hey KT! I hardly ever post anything, although I do try and comment and stay connected every now and then! I have been a part of this site for..two..three? years and love it. I just wanted to point out that this week has been National Eating Disorder Awareness week. More people around you than you might realize has struggled with a form of an eating disorder whether mild or severe. It is more of a mental disorder and starts to become a coping mechanism. It is a struggle so many endure, and I think many on this site has experienced. I just want all to be aware that whether you are trying to lose weight or gain weight, it isn't easy on either side of the spectrum. Judgement should not cross our minds because we know not of the internal struggle of the person. I believe that you all can understand that...I also want to say that each person here is beautiful and should not focus on becoming "skinny" , but focus on becoming healthier and stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually. This is a way of life and this site is a good way to connect to those who are similar to us and can relate to one another. Just a note for us to keep focused on health and happiness! Best wishes to all ;)

  • My challenge to self-- wine. ( not a typo)

Ok, so I THINK I finally got it down on meals.  Printed out a bunch of blank ones so I get it right.  Another member is limiting sweets, my downfall is wine.  I have a pretty stressful job & like to have a couple glasses while cooking after work.  From what I can tell, that's where I am going wrong. SSSSSOOOO my challenge to self is no wine & 2 pounds/ wk.  God give me strength

  • He Liked It!!!!

I have been incorporating clean eating into my familys diet with much dismay from my husband.  Last night I made a delicious Quinoa with corn and scallions recipe off of the eat clean website and he loved it!!!!  He went back for seconds and ate a plate full of it.  I was ridiculously excited :)
