I have been asked to do a challenge for August. So, here it goes: Going on Week 3 of the August Challenge. Not too late partake!
Post on here a realistic goal you want to hit by the END OF AUGUST. (Example, loss 5 pounds not 20; drop one dress size, not 3).
Now here is the kicker - what is your reward for the goal you set??
If you need ideas, go to my profile. I have a list of goals/rewards for every 5 pound goal I hit. I have hit my first one and I am 3 pounds from my second one. It is sooo motivating that I don't eat that piece of cake, pizza, cookie, when people bring them in.
So, reward yourself for the goal you set! You are worth it. It does not have to be expensive. BUT IT CANNOT BE FOOD.
Ok, now post your current weight/dress size along with the goal you want to hit and your reward if you hit it.
Remember to keep updating this string so everyone can come back to it and see how you are doing!
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!
DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR REWARD!! :-)

This is a monthly challenge for a group of ladies from Tosca's old forum. Anyone is welcome to jump in with their own stories!

Remember to let us know how you did for July!! :-)

You may not like me after this... but hey. It's all real talk about the choices we make to get healthy.

Calling all of those who are new to this or need some help staying on track!
This is my first week and I know that I need support and accountability to help me out.
So I am issuing the EC Start Up Challenge to anyone out there struggling to stay clean or is just starting up. I challenge you to eat clean for this whole week. That means you have to plan, prepare, and stay on track this whole week.
Don't worry about working out. I know that sounds crazy, but baby steps people. Let's just focus on one thing at time. Try to get some walking in if you can.
Eat clean for the week and post what you have eaten each day to stay accountable. BE HONEST. If you messed up, you messed up. Keep going.
I'll start a post every morning this week and then everyone can post under it.
Who's with me?

Bob Kennedy's Health Update
-
Hi everyone,
A few days ago, I posted a call for others who are interested in a spending the next six weeks cleaning things up to get in great shape by the 4th of July (which is 6 weeks from today!). The response was great and I'm so glad that I'll have some wonderful new friends to share this journey with. Everyone is welcome to join in --here we go!
Let's check in with each other for Day One here. Maybe put down your goals and what you're doing TODAY to achieve those goals. I'll try to put up a post that we can comment on each day to keep each other motivated, but others can go ahead and post FOJC (look, I made us an unpronouncable acronym!) updates and motivation too.
For me, my main goal is really to fit into the size 6 bridesmaids dress that I bought 6 months ago before I gained 10 lbs. I need to lose the extra weight or otherwise that dress is going to be scandalously tight on my friend's wedding day. So avoiding being publicly humiliated is pretty good motivation for me. But also I really want to use this time to create good habits that will help me to be a healthier, happier person regardless of the number on the scale.
I'm not going to do Stripped or either specific Cooler plans because I am rebellious at heart and don't like too much tight control in my eating, but I'm sure any of those plans will work well for this challenge. I'm going to just focus on eating really, really clean and I know I'll see results. One major change that I am going to make for this challenge borrows a bit from Stripped though--I am going to cut out gluten and dairy for at least the first 2 weeks. I've been reading a lot about gluten and dairy intolerances, and I'm curious to see if eliminating these allergens will help with some skin issues I've been experiencing while helping to jumpstart my weight loss. I'll wait and see how the first two weeks go and then see if I'll continue for the fulll 6 weeks.
Today, I'm going to start the day with a bowl of oatmeal and some egg whites and then go grocery shopping to stock up on some clean eats! I know many of you do food prep and grocery shopping over the weekend, so you're ahead of me. I have a flexible schedule though so I like to do my restocking on Mondays when the stores are empty. So I'll be heading out in a bit to fill my cart with lots of produce, gluten-free grains, and lean protein. Enough about me--what are you doing TODAY to achieve your long-term goals?
Since today is Day One, let's all try to take a moment to visualize the goals that we want to achieve and think about how you'd like to feel when this challenge is over. 6 weeks is enough time to make some really significant positive changes, so I'd imagine that we're all going to be glowing and full of energy by the time the 42 days are up!
Alright, let's get going--I'm excited to achieve my goals and to see everyone who's joining me achieve theirs too.

I have been on this site for about 3months and I have not weighted myself at all since then (really telling the truth) I went to the doctor on the 9-25-2010 and the doctor told me that I am 390 but i don't really believe him but I went for it today I was scared b/c it was my day to weight in and I was hoping and praying that I lost something and not nothing I have three different scale at home just in case so it's 7am in the morning and I am really scared my kids are sleep and I have to get dress for work. My husband is just looking at me saying baby I see a big differences in your body so just go for it and all I am saying in my mind that I have alot of weight to lose and something is better then nothing. I looked at them scales for about 15 mins before I got on one and hoping that I was not in the 390 no more so I did it I finally got on one scared to look down and hoping my husband was not looking but was looking. I open up my eyes and look at him and all I can see was his BIG KOOLAID SMILE!! So I looked down and was shock for what I saw it was unbelievable. Me as a person who has be big all her life me as a woman who has been tall. I have always been bigger then the average person lost that much weight in 3months I am so proud of myself of course I went to the other scales just in case and all of them said different things but in the same number area. All I had to say was a OMG I did that I am strong person to eat clean and to workout and lift those weights and to be tried and go to bed and play around with my kids and to have fun in my life without it hurting my changed life style. These is the best thing I have every tried and it works Thank You GOD Thank you for the will power and Thank you people on the site b/c all of u have given me some awesome words of encouragement and always ask me how I was doing even when I did not see it myself and I am going to keep going I still have alot to go but just to know that I have lost some of it is enough to know that I can do it with my husband help and my new family on this Clean Eating Site.
