  • Long Time Gone.

Good Afternoon Everyone!   Wow its been forever since I have logged in yet alone posted a story! I am starting my eat clean diet journey again with a goal weight of 145lbs. BUT...I am not setting a time limit on it as I don't want to stress myself out like I have done in the past. I am wondering if anyone has the recipe for the the Dark Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Flax cookies?! I have misplaced my copy. Also does anyone have any suggestions for fruit smoothies in the morning that do not have protein/whey powder in it?   I am going to try to log in three times a week to keep everyone updated.   ALSO I have a business trip to Portland, Oregon coming up on October 10th. I would like some suggestions as to what to eat while I am there because I will be in conferences from 8am until 10pm and probably not back to my hotel room until 1-2am as I will have a follow up meetings after! Its a busy weekend but its so worth it and I want to make my eating worth it while I am there and do not want to stuff my face with fast food. Everyone's input is much appreciated!   <3 Dal

  • Why did you decide to start?

What made you decide to start to eat clean??  And how long have you been on your journey? I have been up and down for over a year now with eating clean, a first incorporating new things in my meals!!  It just took some baby steps for me, and I am still learning today!!  I try my best to eat 80 - 90 % clean!  I also started to eat clean so I can lose some weight, and since then have added in exercise at home, and have lost about 15 lbs since April!!!  I'm soo much happier then I was before eating clean!! How about you?

  • Coconut Milk

Good Morning All, I was hoping you could help me answer a question in regards to canned coconut milk.  When a recipe calls for canned coconut milk I have been purchasing the 'lite' variation.  I just read an article in a magazine that said the 'lite' version is a processed food and I should opt to use the regular kind.  What do you think?

  • Eating too little

    HELP, NOT ENOUGH

  • Starting tomorrow, help!!

Hi.  I just joined this today and have read the Eat-Clean Diet Recarged, I've also started a good workout routine that I'm really excited about.  Problem is the meal plan for this upcoming week and what to buy at the store.  I've found lots of grocery lists that would totally break me if I bought everything, plus I wouldn't know what to do with half of it if I could find it.  So this first few weeks I'm going to try to strictly adhere to the actual meal plan in the book.  Some of the dinners though are either impossible for me to get the items or my family would absolutely flip, so can I substitute any of the dinners?  And the sides, how do I know what goes with what??  I can cook, but  my menus have consisted of things like fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans cooked with bacon, fluffy dinner rolls and peach cobbler for dessert.  All of the food groups, right?  So I'm at a total loss on this cooking healthy thing but am determined to learn.  I don't even know what a leek is?  I mean is it a vegtable?  Or couscous??  What in the heck is that....rice, can I put it in the rice cooker?  And what is quinoa- never even heard of that, the shopping experience is going to be a blast.  So I am really going to try to stick with the provided recipes until I learn what things are even suppose to taste like.   I can't wait to hear what my family's comments are about the bean burgers.  At least I know what a sweet potatoe is, but usually we have it with brown sugar, butter and pecans with roasted marshmallows on top....now I'm mixing it with black beans and a leek.  So, the ultimate question is, what do I cook for supper?  Can I substitute the dinners and sides and how do I mix them?  I can control how much I eat, but its going to be challenging knowing how much to cook and therefore buy.  Any advice will be extremely appreciated.  Thank you!!
