  • I'm The Eat-Clean Diet Lady!

Welcome!

It's always been a vision of mine to have a tool that fit the unique needs of those who follow The Eat-Clean Diet®. A place where we could learn from each other by sharing recipes, our workouts, our meal plans, our silliness and jokes, our questions and answers, our challenges and triumphs - all of it. I wanted a community where we could support each other to be the best we could be, and here it is in The Kitchen Table.

Here's a quick overview of some of the features of The Kitchen Table:

1. Post A Story. Use this feature to record your workouts, pose questions to other Eat-Clean Diet® Community members, talk about your day,  share information you think would be useful to other community members, crack a new joke, anything at all. You can also add photos to your posts and other community members can leave feedback for you by leaving comments.

2. Recipes. One of the number one requests I get are for more recipes. I try my best as one person, but imagine what we can produce as a community!  Here's a place where we can all post our favorite recipes (clean ones of course) to share with each other. You can even add photos to your post. It'll be our own beautiful community cookbook!

3. Meal Plans. As you all know, I'm a huge advocate of tracking your meals. The Meal Plan section is a place for you to post all 6 of your meals, everyday, to keep yourself accountable. You'll also have access to everyone else's diverse meal plans so you'll never be bored with your meals again!

4. Photos. Share how wonderful and vibrant you are with photos. I'll be posting photos from my travels regularly so you can get to know me better, and I hope you'll do the same.

5. Tagging. Now you can categorize your photos, meal plans, recipes and stories by adding a 'tag' to them. If you're writing a post about running, tag it with the word  'running', if your recipe has chicken in it, tag it with the word 'chicken'. You can tag your posts with as many words as are relevent. This  will then help you find other posts that are related to your topic.

I want to send a a big thank you to Christopher Barnes who for almost two years dedicated himself to rebuilding www.EatCleanDiet.com! This site is what it is because of his hard work and expertise. Thank you to Leigh Hargrove who committed her team and herself to making a superior product that can't be matched anywhere. Thank you to Erin Morris and Jeff Sykes for their constant input and support on this project. Thank you to Wendy Morley, the managing editor at Robert Kennedy Publishing, whose forward thinking allowed this project to happen at all. Thank you to Vinita Persaud, the online editor at Robert Kennedy Publishing,  who worked along side the web department to make this project happen.

Finally, a big thank you to all of you, my readers, who inspired us with all of your feedback over the years. Your questions, requests and motivation to improve yourselves are the true foundation of the community on www.EatCleanDiet.com. We hope that the tools provided here will help you achieve all you've ever dreamed of.

Now take a seat at The Kitchen Table and tell me everything!

Hi I have a question... I recently started the eat clean diet with in the last couple days. I really don't have weight to lose but, I am a runner, and want to become as healthy as I can for my not only me but my family. I just want to live the most active healthy lifestyle that I can. So my question is, when I was reading the recharged book, it talks about oatmeal for breakfast. I was always told by trainers that steel cut oats are the best, however it the book it talks too about scotch oats, is that the same as irish oatmeal? Also, a friend of mind turned me onto cooking tomato sauce with ground beef in it and putting it over steamed veggies. So I made my sauce from organic canned tomatos (no sugar added) and italian spices then added ground sirloin. Is ground sirloin the best or should I have used something else? My family seems to love it, so YEAAAA. That is half the battle. I would have used bison but I am having trouble finding it. Please let me know...Thanks for all your help. Kiki

Hi Tosca! I'm a huge fan and love making the recipes from your book. I wasn't sure where to post this- but I have a question about the Bread Pudding with Fruit Recipe from your newest cookbook. I made it last night so I could have a delicious breakfast before hitting the gym this morning. However, there seems to have been a printing mistake. The recipe says to divide the coconut butter- using the first half in the milk and yogurt mixture, and then doesn't say what to do with the second half. So I ended up omitting the second half of the butter. It still tasted good but I was just curious. Thanks, Kayla

Thank you for this website, information and posting/community options. I just saw your welcome video and you already seem like a woman I would be friends with :) You seem very warm and welcoming. I am a group fitness instructor, triathlete and wife. I have spent most of my life worrying about what I eat and how I look...however, my thoughts are changing. I'm 36 and have started thinking more about BEING healthy and happy...not starving, skinny and miserable. I am not thin by any means, but am able to pump some iron and have great endurance. I'm starting the clean eating today and planning on the rest of my life. With the help of you and the website/community, I hope to achieve my goal and be the best I can be!

  • 3rd Annual ECD Challange

Alright, so it begins, well it actually began yesterday.  I am committed to this challenge, to get healthy, lose weight, be fit, and quite frankly just look smoking hot in a bikini!!!   There is a lot of time to do this, and I need to stay on track with motivation and determination.  My boyfriend is standing beside me doing the challenge as well, but on his own and not on the website.   So cheers to the road of hard work! (back fat.... seriously?....gotta get rid of that!!!)

  • To weigh or not to weigh

I've had a rough couple of days as far as clean eating goes. I blame my scale to some extent. On September 1st I weighed 147lbs. I was determined to eat clean and I did. I was so proud of myself for eating so well all week and nudging myself to exercise. I even made it through the Labor Day holiday without losing my focus. Yesterday, I stepped on the scale and saw 142.4 lbs. I couldn't believe it! One week I had lost almost 5 lbs! So......I ate my healthy diet all day yesterday until....dinner. My 20 year old nephew was coming to visit so I stopped to pick up a pizza. I ate 2 slices of pizza and had a small soda (yes, small....just a small amount left in the bottle). This morning I stepped on my scale and the number moved up to 145.2. How is that possible???!!!  I discipline myself for a whole week and lose 5 lbs only to gain 3 back after 2 stinking pieces of pizza??!!  How does weight work like that? So...discouraged isn't a strong enough word for how I felt. I thought, why bother???  I went to a working lunch and had a tuna melt with fries and a coke....plus a refill! Felt like crap the rest of the day. Didn't stop me from having more than one brownie when I got home from work. All because of the numbers on the scale.   I am an obsessive weigher. I weigh myself in the morning. I weigh myself when I get home from work to see if I lost any weight throughout the day.  I weigh myself before bed in an attempt to determine how much I might weigh again in the morning, often disappointed when I was too generous with my prediction. I think I need an intervention!

  • Happy & Motivated

Hello Fellow Clean Eaters :) I wanted to get on here and say that I'm a happy girl this morning!  The reason for this is the fact that clean eating has been going strong and I have been consistent in saying "no thank you!" to myself on cravings!  We cook mostly from home but when I slink by the baked goods section in the co-op or the ice cream in the frozen section - I remind myself what I am doing and why I want this for myself.  I don't want to sabotage my efforts for what?  A sugar high that makes me feel like crap afterwards not to mention guilty!  And I should be able to say no because honestly food shouldn't have that type of power over me!  I'm usually pretty good with avoiding sugar but I have noticed with the birth of my sweet daughter, breastfeeding, and hormonal fluxes that I really really get a wave sometimes of cravings.  There are 2 that are particularly strong that sometimes stick in my head all day long  Top 2 Cravings: (1) Ice Cream & non-dairy coconut ice cream (2) chocolate! What are your top cravings?  I still haven't yet entered the contest yet but that is because I took my measurements and lost them!  Now I need to get them again ... I'm excited about this and I cannot tell you all enough how much it helps coming on here every single day so THANK YOU for all of your posts, recipes, ideas, thoughts!  I appreciate it so much!  And I love the food tracker as I have been able to be much more consistent it's been great.  I used to write everything down but this has been so much easier paper free!  I feel a ton better but I can really tell if I don't consume food every few hours as wow I am hungry!  Fueling the fire I guess!  My tummy is even looking flatter!  At any rate I wish you all nothing but success in your goals!!    Keep saying No to your cravings! • Fall is in the air

Hello fellow clean eaters. I hope your day has been a good one. In Northern Ontario it's wet. cold and windy.  Fall is in the air and my hibernating personality wants me to eat stew, no chilli, no pasta, no all of them maybe.  lol  I'll fool her.  I'm going to make the squash and flax soup and see what that does to her.  Maybe a piece of ez bread to make her think it's fattening carbs.  Shhhhh don't tell her. I'll let you know how it come out.  Ummmm I can smell it and taste it now. Have a great night Madanglr Well I'm back and yummmyyy! That soup is so good.  I can't wait to eat it at school tomorrow from my thermos.  It's nice to know I made that and that it's clean.
