What’s Your Passion?

3 Ways to Ignite the Fire in Your Life

At the office, everyone is buzzing about the 2010 Arnold Sports Festival! Once again, my Eat-Clean Diet® Team and I are heading down to Columbus, Ohio to indulge in our shared passion: fitness!

I love The Arnold because I get to spend so much time greeting fans, signing books and taking pictures with everyone. It’s my chance to thank all of you for supporting me! I also get to hear so many heartwarming stories from people who travel from far and wide to tell me that the Eat-Clean Diet® Lifestyle has changed their lives for the better.

As I begin mustering up the energy for the most intense four days of the year, I started to think about how lucky I am to be able to live my passion every day. It’s what keeps me going even when I feel like I’m being spread thin. Even though my career demands so much of me, I genuinely enjoy what I do because it is my passion.

We can all be happier people if we spend more time doing the things we love. In between working, taking care of our families and all of the other responsibilities we have, some of us have forgotten what it is we even like! Fear not, I’ve got three tips that will help you ignite that fire deep inside of you and ultimately make you a happier person!

1. Explore! Think about all of the things that you enjoy and write them down on a list. It can be anything at all from sewing to cooking to mountain climbing! Highlight the ones that stick out and that you’d like to explore further. Don’t get caught up in the excuses of being too old or too busy, just indulge yourself for a moment and pick the things you want to do more of.

2. Clear the Way! Stop thinking about the cannots and start thinking about the hows. We are all busy and have lots of responsibilities, but the people who are truly happy are the ones who find ways to engage with their passion despite constraints. Maybe you can’t take off for a weeklong ski trip, but you can subscribe to a skiing magazine so you can read all about your favorite sport. Being able to connect with your passion, in any way at all, will bring you enjoyment!

3. Do it Now! Don’t let one more day pass you and your passions by. Go after your dreams and don’t let anything stop you.

Just thinking about the possibilities that lie ahead for you exhilarates me and I hope you are feeling a spark of excitement, too! Maybe you’ll even feel inspired enough to come down to the Arnold to tell me about it! I’ll be there ready to listen to it all.

Have a great week!
