Dear Tosca,
I remember the day it happened very well. It was January 24, 2008 - just another day in the hectic life I was leading. The day was as gloomy as my moods had been for the past couple of years. I sat in my car, tears flowing down my face, bursting out of my fashionable suit almost feeling as if someone was in the back seat suffocating me. I was feeling extremely depressed about my health, as well as how my body was starting to look, and needed to stop the madness in a hurry!
Excess fat, food cravings, stomach aches, extreme fatigue and low to no energy – you name it, I had it. I felt like a dead woman walking! I had gradually fallen victim to life’s circumstances, which kept my motivation level very low. Before I went home that evening, I stopped by the local bookstore to pick up any book that had to do with fitness, diet and exercise.
I'm a very visual person and walked straight to the book that was brightly colored and pretty! That book ended up being The Eat-Clean Diet with you gracing the cover. You were smiling, exposing your awesome abs and holding a bunch of assorted fruits and veggies. I skimmed through the book, read your story and purchased it. I instantly made the decision that I needed to make a lifestyle change and my journey started that moment. I wanted to start living and not just existing!
With my motivation high and the eagerness to transform my body and life, I ate five or six small meals daily. Life couldn’t have been better! My energy levels were boosted, I had a little more pep in my step and my eyes became crystal clear! About four months went by and the body fat was dripping off of me!
After a couple of months, I joined a gym and started weight training. I always loved the physiques of fitness and figure models and saw what you had done to your physique by strength training. I started a weight-training program to go along with my Eat-Clean Diet plan. I immersed myself in the fitness community and connected with people who shared my interest and passion. I ended up losing 40 pounds within six months.
In March 2009, I attended the Arnold Sports Festival in Ohio and had the opportunity to meet you in person. With extreme enthusiasm, I shared my story with you, was interviewed and later found my testimonial video featured on The Eat-Clean Diet website! I was so honored and proud!
I have since challenged myself to take my physique to the next level. I joined one of the top female fitness teams around and competed in my first bikini competition in October. I placed 3rd in my division; I couldn't have been more proud!
For those skeptics out there who think weight loss pills, fad diets and starving themselves is the way to go; I say try the Eat-Clean Diet – it works! Continue to believe and trust the process. You can achieve your goals. Believe me, every day gets easier, especially when you start thinking of every day as the rest of your life! It's not a diet … IT'S A LIFESTYLE!
