My Journey:

Dear Tosca,

This past Christmas, I was counting my blessings. I’ve had three 9-pound babies in the last five years! Unfortunately, through those pregnancies, I gained 68 pounds. When the pictures came in from our holiday celebrations, honestly, I cried. Seeing my condition and how much my body had changed was very difficult. I had been getting sick frequently and none of my clothes fit.

I was walking through Barnes and Noble looking in the magazine section for a good read to get me motivated to tackle my weight and health issues for the new year when I came across Oxygen magazine and I haven’t looked back. From there I learned about you and your Eat-Clean Diet® book series. The education I’ve obtained from reading The Eat-Clean Diet as well as The Eat-Clean Diet for Family and Kids has forever changed my life.

Reading Oxygen and Clean Eating magazines keeps me motivated with all the recipes and health tips, as well as stimulating my workouts to be more effective. In total, I’ve lost 47 pounds thanks to your advice.

Thank you for making a difference for my family and me for generations to come.

Sincerely,
Tosha Firestone

What is your secret for balancing your food plan and your kids schedules? I have not mastered the two yet and need all the advice I can get to stay successful and motivated. Thanks and congratulations for figuring out the formula for what works.

Yes, congrats to Tasha's success....I know it's a challenge to lose weight and more so, to keep it off. But, was this inspirational? Not to me. Sounded more like a sales promo for The Eat Clean Diet. I adhere to the Eat Clean way of living and all the benefits it promotes, but where was the struggle in this story? Someone who has the challenge in everyday tasks, like brushing teeth, buttoning a shirt, zipping up a child's jacket, or walking, then to go on and succeed in weight loss and maintenance.....That to me is a Success Story!!!!

I completely agree with the comment made by trainer1 above. I got the newsletter today with the link to read Tosha's "inspirational story", and while congratulations go out to her for reaching her weight loss goal, the story was FAR from inspirational! Every woman who has kids stuggles with time managment, and most struggle with losing the "baby weight"...lucky for her she didn't have a lot of weight to lose! Get back to me when you overcome something that seemed insurmountable, like losing the over 100lbs that I'm stuggling with every day

Although I do agree that the story does sound a little more info-mercial than yeah for me success story I don’t agree with KittieCat’s comment. Just because you don’t have to lose 100 + lbs doesn’t mean that the lose was not worth mentioning. I honestly feel that weight loss is completely relative…it is like training…just because a person had a successful 5km race doesn’t make it any less of an accomplishment compared to another’s marathon. Way to go Tosha, you look fabulous!

Thank-you for sharing your story. Losing is weight is not easy, period! Especially when you have children. You have done an amazing job and are an inspiration to many! Keep up the great work! You deserve that swim suit!

Tosha, congratulations on your success!! :) I do not have any children, but seeing all the daily chaos that my friends with children go thru, I'd love to give a high-five to any mom who can stay disciplined/organized enough to accomplish what you did. LOL To those of you who do not consider her story inspirational, I pray that you will realize that we all have our own hurdles to clear and mountains to climb to reach our goals, no matter how great or small. We *must* support and congratulate one another at all times! You never know when you may need that encouragement. ;)

Congrats Tosha and EAT CLEAN. Your story is HUGELY INSPIRATIONAL! Sometimes I believe that in the age of the Biggest Loser where it seems like in 1 hour a week in a short season you can lose 100lbs, we can take for granted or mitigate our successes. Just not gaining weight is an accomplishment in Canada where 59% are overweight or obese and the number of overweight teens has nearly tripled in the last generation. Just losing 10 lbs is associated with a 50% decrease in the risk of a heart attack, 60% decrease in diabetes risk, 50 % decrease in arthritis and a 10% drop in "bad" ( LDL) cholesterol - not to mention an improved sex life! Losing 100 lbs or more can seem like a daunting task but it is done just like 48 lbs or 10 lbs - one pound at a time. Doing it in a healthy life changing way - like the Eat Clean Diet- will make it sustainable. I lost 30 lbs 6 years ago ( I have 4 sons and I'm a busy M.D.) when I cleaned up my own act and it was life changing for me and all those I contact. The weight is just a number. How I feel on the inside ( energy, passion, vibrancy) is hard to quantify and no doubt Tosha can relate. Has to be experienced first hand. Congrats all!!

Congrats Tosha!! I no especially how it feels to put on a pile of weight while pregnant, and have it be so hard to take it off after birth. I put on 60lbs with my first ( 2 1/2 years old) and 23lbs with my second( 10 weeks old). I am now eating clean and hoping to have as nice a body as yours. If you have any tips on how you did this please shoot them my way. Congrats again!!

Thank you for all of your encouragement. It is actually really cool to see this "after" picture because although I am around the same weight I am much leaner and toned now. I thought the struggle was pretty apparent when I talked about three 9lb babies. I gained 50, 60, and 68 lbs. Fyi I would do an infomercial for Tosca and her husband anytime because it is truth and works! As to the question of how I balance my food plan, kids. etc. It is all in preparation and keeping a food journal. Be prepared and know your goals!

Thanks for sharing your story. I just had my 4th baby 4 months ago, and I've got 46 lbs that I have to lose. It seems like a daunting task, but I know it's possible. Congratulations on reaching your goals. Your abs look amazing!

Hi Tosha! I saw your story in one of the Oxygen magazines. I was inspired because we are the same exact height and have the same goal weight! It was just so inspiring to see your success and I feel motivated to take positive steps towards my goals :) Thank you and all the best to you! Angela
