My Journey:
By the age of 28 I was married, had two children and had a wonderful life, but something was keeping me from being truly happy: My weight and body image. As a child I had always been tiny but when I entered my mid-to-late twenties I was no longer able to eat whatever I wanted without paying for it on the scale.
In January 2011, I decided to make it my goal to lose all the unwanted weight and hit my goal weight of 125 pounds. I started off slowly by changing some of my eating habits and cutting out the junk food I loved so much, but I found the weight was not coming off the way I had hoped.
A friend of mine had been talking about Tosca Reno and The Eat-Clean Diet® so I did some research and began to faithfully follow this amazing new lifestyle. I loved it! The pounds began to melt away and before I knew it I was shopping for new clothes in sizes I hadn’t been able to wear since high school. I had more energy, which allowed me to begin running, something I had always wanted to do and had never attempted. I have now run two 5k races and surpassed my goal weight of 125 – I hit 117 pounds!
One of my biggest motivations has been the Kitchen Table. Reading about others’ journeys has kept me in tune with my goals and kept me focused. My four-year-old son was also a big motivator for me. I wanted to teach him the value of taking care of your body. He now loves healthy food and requests healthy snacks instead of junky treats.
The most surprising change since my weight loss has been the improvement in my personal relationships. I used to feel jealous of others’ accomplishments, and now I am excited for them and it motivates me to work harder towards my goals. My whole outlook on life has changed and I really feel that it all started with Eating Clean and making my health a priority.
I have never been happier with the way I look and feel. Thank you, Tosca, for your positivity and fantastic outlook on food and life!
Sincerely,
