My Journey:
Dear Tosca,
On December 10, 2007 my life changed dramatically when I was involved in a car wreck. A tanker truck struck the truck that I was driving. I was in the hospital for ten days and underwent two surgeries to repair my arm and collarbone.
When I came home from the hospital I was so depressed. I had two small children (aged two and seven months) to care for and could not even care for myself. My husband and family had to do everything for me. I was off work for three months and after I went back to work, I underwent three months of physical therapy. It took about a year for me to recover.
Around that time, I was the biggest that I had been in my life. I hated the way I looked and the way my clothes fit. I had always been active in high school and college, but now I had no energy and was always run down. After having two kids two years apart I had let myself go. Then, a light switch went on in my head.
I changed my diet by starting to follow the Eat-Clean Diet. I bought your Eat-Clean Diet book and The Eat-Clean Diet Cookbook and have learned so much. I’ve also joined a local gym and started going to a fitness class three days a week.
My life has changed so much – I love the way I feel! I have energy and feel great. When I started working out I bought a subscription to Oxygen magazine. I aspire every day to look like the models in the magazine.
I hope that by writing this letter to you, I will inspire even just one person to change their lifestyle. I try to set an example for my kids, family and friends that no matter what happens in your life, it happens for a reason and you are always in control. If you stay dedicated to achieving a goal you can do it no matter what. Just work hard, live every day to the fullest and don’t give up.
