My Journey:
My journey began when I realized one day that I would not see my daughter grow up. That I would not walk her down the aisle at her wedding and that I would never hold my grandchildren. That was the day my journey began. I made up my mind I was going to lose weight. No matter what it took.
I was very dedicated to my work and never took the time to eat properly. Breakfast consisted of a couple of coffees with two creams and two sugars. Never actual food. Lunch, if I had the time, was usually something greasy from a drive thru. Being self-employed, I worked until whenever and usually ate a huge meal late in the evening. I didn't take the time to exercise. I had no desire to.
Slow and steady my weight crept up until May of 2008 when some personal issues made me take a good look at my life. I realized that chasing money was meaningless. Your health and loved ones are what matter most, because without those all you have is loneliness.
My wife was already following The Eat-Clean Diet so I started it too. I would take my cooler of food with me during the day and that's what I ate. I also joined a gym and started doing cardio, weight training, swimming and playing squash.
Pretty soon my weight started dropping, I had more energy and I actually liked the food I was eating. People at the gym were telling me how great I looked and were even asking me for advice! I couldn't believe it. I started working out with a personal trainer, Terry Boyd, and got hooked on bodybuilding.
I weighed 312 pounds and wore size 50 jeans. Now, I weigh 155 pounds! But I'm not stopping there. I still want to lose more fat and build more muscle. I feel amazing and have so many things I want to do, starting with becoming a personal trainer and opening a training studio so I can help others start their journey to a better life. Entering bodybuilding competitions, sky diving, white water rafting and scuba diving are just a few of the things on my new "to do" list of things I never dreamed of doing when I was heavy.
I have also established a support group within the gym. It's called "Team Hammer." We support each other in all aspects of training and one of our team members is going to make some recipes from The Eat-Clean Diet for everyone to try.
Thanks to The Eat-Clean Diet and exerice I am a new person and I'm loving my healthy, new life.
Sincerely,
