“I never thought I could eat so much good food, feel so satisfied and look my best.”

Age: 25 Height: 5'0" Heaviest Weight: 125 lb Current Weight: 104 lb

My Journey:

My journey to my current weight began in high school. As a cheerleader, I wanted to be as light as possible, so I put myself on starvation diets. Little did I know back then all I was really doing was slowing my metabolism down. I was always fairly small at five feet and 115 pounds, but I always wished I could have a toned stomach and smaller legs. By the time I went to college, I was 120 lbs. I always seemed to gain and lose the same five pounds by yoyo dieting. In college, I was a cardio queen and even resorted to using diet pills. By using diet pills, I was able to get my weight down to 110. But looking back at pictures it was definitely a flabby 110. My skin looked terrible. I slept only five hours a night because the diet pills revved me up so much. I also started to have panic attacks. As a nursing student I realized that the diet pills were very hazardous to my health and therefore I gave them up.

After quitting the diet pills, however, my metabolism came to a grindling halt. I quickly gained back 15 lbs, and settled at about 125 lbs. I knew I was healthier without the diet pills, but I wished there was some way for me to look like the models I saw in Oxygen magazine. But like a fool, I continued to do tons of cardio and eat processed foods. Finally at age 24, I started to lift weights and did see a measurable drop in my body fat, but I still wasn't exactly where I wanted to be. I had almost given up, figuring that diet pills had ruined my metabolism.

I first heard of clean eating in Oxygen magazine. It sounded simple enough. I basically just cut out all processed foods, kept my sugar intake slim to none, and upped my fruits and veggies. Miraculously, I started losing body fat and my muscles started showing through. The Eat-Clean Diet® helped me in that it taught me to plan my meals and always bring a cooler filled with healthy foods to work with me. I never thought I could eat so much good food, feel so satisfied and look my best. I also had help from Cathy Savage in achieving contest-ready shape. She helped me to fine-tune my diet by manipulating macronutrients. However, at the base of any competition diet is clean eating. And now that I am post-competition, I am maintaining my physique effortlessly by continuing to just eat clean. The great thing about eating clean is that it is a lifestyle. You don't have to feel like you're on a diet. Plus, I don't fear that I will gain all the weight back because it's next to impossible to be overweight if you eat frequent clean meals.

I especially appreciate this! I don't have a lot of weight to lose, and I know my numbers won't be as "impressive" as some. So, it's nice to see a story with a small amount in difference on the scale, but such great changes in the before and after pictures! You really do look amazing and I hope I can achieve a similar level of fitness and shape. I'm also short, a little under 5 2, so your proportions are similar to mine in terms of being very petite. Thanks for the inspiration!

Is there any way you could post a sample of your meal plan. I am aslo 5'2" and have a very similiar past (diet Pills). I was also wondering how much you exercise and how long did it take to see results?

I heartily agree. I am 5'1" and continually weigh between 115-117. I feel like I have great endurance and strength but I CANNOT seem to get down to the 105 I have always wanted. Please tell me: How long did it take to get to your goal and did you have to eat the same chicken and broccoli and protein drinks everyday? Cause I'm tired of it! =) You are beautiful and truly inspiring!!!

Your story is inspiring! I too am small, but flabby. I weigh 125 and have 25% body fat. I don't care about losing weight, but I would like to drop the body fat number. I exercise 5 days a week, both cardio and strength, and I know under this layer of flab are toned muscles waiting to show themselves. I have a problem with my willpower, and tend to give in to sweets. I recently had a birthday and committed to myself to focus on eating clean. It's been a week now, and so far so good! Thank you for sharing your story.

I agree I am also just a little under 5'2" and weigh aroungd 118 but I have almost 25% body fat. I am wanting to tone up and loose these saddle bags!! I love reading stories like yours to inspire me.

I also would like to know how you achieved your goals. You mentioned working with your macro nutrients. Can you tell us more about that? I too am 5'1" and 110lbs but I am 25% body fat and would love to see that go down. I have gone down to 19% but it seems like when I get that low my body just stops and won't go further. I'd love to see 105 lbs and 15% body fat. Any recommendations? Every lb and percentage on our small frames makes such a huge impact. But it's such a struggle it seems.

I have read everyone's comments and I completely agree. I am the same I am 5'1 and weigh 118lbs but MISS my 105lbs I had after I left bootcamp. I miss my body being toned and tight. Could you please share your cooler and workout plan. Your story truly helps me since I know its not a lot of weight that I need to loose more body fat and toning. HOpe to hear from you soon.
