My Journey:
Dear Tosca,
I began my journey in January 2009 and I haven’t stopped since. I purchased The Eat-Clean Diet® for Family and Kids because I didn’t have a clue about eating healthy. My diet consisted of fast food, sweet tea, pasta and loads of bread. I was out of control and so was my family. At 33, I was on the verge of diabetes. I needed to make changes for my four children and me. My two oldest children were gaining a lot of weight because of my poor choices.
After I began reading my first Eat-Clean Diet book, I bought all of the other books including The Eat-Clean Diet Workout. I was working out at home six days a week. I began taking Muay Thai kickboxing and I wanted to begin strength training. The workout book opened up a new world for me. I love strength training and it is now a huge part of my week.
Now, I am at the gym six days a week at 5 am. I have women compliment me or say, “I wish I could look like you.” I tell them, “You can! First you have to purchase one of the Eat-Clean Diet books and read, read, read, and then clean, clean, clean out your pantry and refrigerator!”
I learned to set goals and eat healthy foods, instead of eating refined foods such as white flour, white sugar and white bread. I had lost myself over the years being a mother and going through a divorce but you were an inspiration to me and I gained self-esteem I had thought was gone. I was a sufferer of severe depression for four years and I think the Eat-Clean way of living helped save my family and me.
These days, I am a group fitness instructor and I am taking my personal trainer's certification this summer. I decided to return to school and become a dietitian after losing 56 pounds through Eating Clean and working out.
I found a lot of new passions, such as running, Muay Thai and helping others become healthy because of the success I had through my journey. I have completed a half-marathon and 15k trail run, and my next goal will be to complete a half-triathlon. The Eat-Clean Diet really helped me learn the importance of goal setting. Without a plan, you're just lost in life. Thank you Tosca for inspiring so many people just like me!
