My Journey:
Treating myself to McDonald's after a long one hour workout with my trainer (I confessed this to her after getting myself in shape), or going to the Chinese Buffet before going food shopping so I would not be hungry when I was in the supermarket or buying a fresh loaf of Italian bread and eating three quarters to a half of it while dipping it in olive oil were all bad habits and weekly religious rituals that I am sad and embarrassed to say used to shape my life before I discovered clean eating.
Taking into consideration that I had now gained a little over thirty pounds, my clothing size had gone from single to double digits and my doctor was ready to put me on medication for high cholesterol. Mentally, I was now ready to do something. I educated myself about clean eating and read all that I could. Once I saw some subtle changes in my body in combination with some exercise, needless to say I was hooked and began eating things I never liked before because I saw what they could do for my body and my energy level.
Now, when I reflect back to the days before clean eating I can’t even imagine I used to eat any other way. I am very thankful for a publication like Oxygen magazine to keep me educated about clean eating and always giving me new recipes to make.
